Opinion On the Name Laken/Lakelyn/Lakelynd

I all of the sudden started to grow a love towards the name [name_u]Laken[/name_u]/Lakelyn/Lakelynd. What’s your guys opinion on it? Some ways I would spell/pronounce the names:

  • [name_u]Laken[/name_u] ([name_u]Lake[/name_u]-in)
  • [name_f]Lakelyn[/name_f] ([name_u]Lake[/name_u]-lyn)
  • Lakelynd ([name_u]Lake[/name_u]-lind)
    The middle name I chose would be [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. [name_u]Laken[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Lakelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], Lakelynd [name_f]Grace[/name_f].

Not a fan of Lakelynd at all; seems like it’s trying too hard to me.

LOVE [name_u]Laken[/name_u]/Lakelyn though!

I’m not a fan of any of these names, sorry… If you’re planning on using them on a real child, they probably won’t age very well, especially since these kinds of names won’t be used much in five/ten years. If you were to go for one of these, I would recommend [name_u]Laken[/name_u], since it is a real name. [name_f]Lakelyn[/name_f] kind of seems like a feminine lake, and I would really advise against Lakelynd, it just doesn’t really sound like a name to me. I apologize in advance if I caused any offense.

No offense taken at all!! If anything you helped me more!!

Ok thank you!!

Lakelyn is lovely  the d seems a bit unnecessary though

Laken is nice! It has a fun, outdoorsy feel. [name_f]Lakelyn[/name_f] feels odd to me since it means “lake lake”, and the d in Lakelynd seems unnecessary.

I really like [name_u]Laken[/name_u], and [name_f]Lakelyn[/name_f] is sweet too!

Lakelynd feels awkward and hard to pronounce to me, sorry.

I have also developed feelings out of nowhere for the name [name_u]Laken[/name_u]. When first reading [name_f]Lakelyn[/name_f] I liked it, but the more I stare at it and say it, the more I circle back to [name_u]Laken[/name_u]. I really love it paired with [name_f]Grace[/name_f].

Ooo I didn’t know [name_f]Lakelyn[/name_f] meant [name_u]Lake[/name_u] [name_u]Lake[/name_u], LOL!! Learn more every day, thank you!!

I like the straighforwardness of [name_u]Laken[/name_u].

Laken is cute! How about [name_m]Lakeland[/name_m] (it’s on NB as a boy’s name but I think it could work) or even Lochlyn? [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a sweet & versatile middle name that would work with almost anything.

I had a friend in middle school named [name_u]Laken[/name_u]! I always thought her name was really fun and unique. There was a berry a long time ago with a daughter named Lakelin, which I really liked with that spelling. For the third, I’d go with [name_m]Lakeland[/name_m], which would sound the same in my accent but look way less confusing than Lakelynd.

Laken is definitely my favorite though!

I like [name_u]Laken[/name_u]

I agree with this!

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_u]Laken[/name_u]! They’re not really my style, they feel quite trendy and I don’t love the nicknames, but the sound is nice. Other names you may like: [name_f]Lainey[/name_f], [name_f]Lowenna[/name_f], [name_f]Leonie[/name_f], [name_f]Lianna[/name_f], [name_u]Linden[/name_u], [name_f]Lena[/name_f] and [name_f]Laureline[/name_f].

Welcome to Nameberry! We are happy to have you on our forums.

Laken is not really my style, but it’s an established name. [name_f]Lakelyn[/name_f] and Lakelynd are just too out there for me. As a teacher, I would hate to accidentally spell her name wrong. I would prefer just [name_u]Lake[/name_u] over [name_u]Laken[/name_u].

I think [name_u]Lake[/name_u] [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] is beautiful.

I quite like [name_u]Laken[/name_u]! The others seem very trendy and unnecessarily “gendered” to me.

Laken is the best out of the options IMO. But I prefer just [name_u]Lake[/name_u].

Laken is ok, but I don’t really care much for the rest. [name_u]Laken[/name_u] has a really earthy feel which is cool. I also like just [name_u]Lake[/name_u].
