I can understand where you’re coming from!

I like [name_u]Dorian[/name_u] but that’s pretty much it. [name_m]Braxton[/name_m] is okay. [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] & [name_u]Brayden[/name_u] are two -ayden names I never liked. I much prefer [name_u]Kayden[/name_u] & [name_u]Hayden[/name_u]. Everything else just seems old-manish to me.

Okay then, I can see where you’re coming from

…wait… [name_m]SEMAJ[/name_m] is an old man name??? O_O

[name_u]Lee[/name_u] - My Moms Middle name. OK for a boy…

Poldark ya mean

Thank you for your opinion!

[name_m]Semaj[/name_m] is actually [name_u]James[/name_u] spelt backwards and is popular among African-Americans

Also bearing in mind I have also put names on this list from different decades. I even keyed them in the Name Age Calculator; I can put the results down

[name_u]Barry[/name_u] - a little too old man for me. it is the name of the flash though, so it has at least one redeeming quality.
[name_u]Dorian[/name_u] - I’ve always really liked the sound of this one. also like [name_u]Florian[/name_u].
[name_m]Fernand[/name_m] - I agree with a pp that it sounds like it’s missing something. perhaps [name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m] is a little more interesting.
[name_m]Humberto[/name_m] - I don’t really like any name with “bert” in it
[name_u]Jerry[/name_u] - remnds me of [name_m]Parks[/name_m] and Rec and [name_u]Jerry[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]. I can’t imagine it on a young person.
[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] - very nice name. I really like nn [name_m]Enzo[/name_m].
[name_m]Nestor[/name_m] - I actually used to have a neighbor with this name, but even though I’m able to picture it on a kid, I never thought it suited him. too old man.
[name_m]Semaj[/name_m] - not a fan of this one. [name_u]James[/name_u] is nice though.
[name_m]Braxton[/name_m] - while I’d never use it, I do like the sound of it. Brax is very cool, [name_u]Pax[/name_u] & [name_m]Dax[/name_m] are also nice.
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u] - despite its popularity, I’ve always liked this name. I think it’s a bit too overused now though.
[name_u]Brayden[/name_u] - never liked this one. prefer [name_u]Hayden[/name_u].
(I do like [name_u]Bray[/name_u] though, just maybe as a nn for something else)
[name_u]Bret[/name_u] - this doesn’t look complete to me
[name_m]Don[/name_m] - another ‘old man’ name. I’ve known many Donnys/Donalds/Donovans and I’ve never been a fan.
[name_m]Franklin[/name_m] - I grew up with a few. don’t really like this one, but [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] is cute.
[name_m]Harvey[/name_m] - used to be cute, now it’s all Weinstein so it’s a no.
[name_m]Jose[/name_m] - I’ve known A LOT. both my next door neighbors are actually [name_m]Jose[/name_m], and one of them has multiple brothers also name [name_m]Jose[/name_m]. it’s a pretty popular name where I live I guess. but it’s a nice name otherwise.
[name_u]Lee[/name_u] - nms, but it’s an okay name. [name_m]Levi[/name_m] is nicer.

[name_u]Barry[/name_u]- I prefer this as a nickname for a longer name [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m], [name_m]Finnbar[/name_m], [name_u]Barrett[/name_u], [name_m]Barack[/name_m],
[name_u]Dorian[/name_u]- [name_m]Noble[/name_m]/erudite sounding name, reminds me of A Picture of [name_u]Dorian[/name_u] [name_u]Gray[/name_u].
[name_m]Fernand[/name_m]- Not the version of the name I would expect but that doesn’t make it bad
[name_m]Humberto[/name_m]- [name_m]Humberto[/name_m] Ecco. I think this one works better if you speak a romance language (not English)
[name_u]Jerry[/name_u]- This is a nickname to me, not a full given name.
[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m]- handsome
[name_m]Nestor[/name_m]- reminds me of Uncle [name_m]Nestor[/name_m] from the Addams family
[name_m]Semaj[/name_m]- I like the sound of this one
[name_m]Braxton[/name_m]- [name_f]Toni[/name_f] [name_m]Braxton[/name_m]
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u]- modern
[name_u]Brayden[/name_u]- modern
[name_u]Bret[/name_u]- Good, simple, strong name
[name_m]Don[/name_m]- This is a nickname to me, not a full given name.
[name_m]Franklin[/name_m]- distinguished
[name_m]Harvey[/name_m]- Not my style
[name_m]Jose[/name_m]- More common in Spanish speaking places
[name_u]Lee[/name_u]- Good, simple, strong name

[name_u]Barry[/name_u] - dad name
[name_u]Dorian[/name_u] - [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] Wilde is a really cool association!
[name_m]Humberto[/name_m] - sounds very old man to me, I’m surprised its expected birth year is 1990!
[name_u]Jerry[/name_u] - either a dad name or a douchey guy in his twenties (I have bad associations with several people named [name_u]Jerry[/name_u])
[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] - this sounds much cooler and younger to me than [name_m]Humberto[/name_m]
[name_m]Nestor[/name_m] - sounds like a name I’d give to a character in a fantasy novel
[name_m]Semaj[/name_m] - no associations with this… I noticed it’s [name_u]James[/name_u] backwards though?
[name_m]Braxton[/name_m]/[name_u]Brayden[/name_u] - so many Br- names have been lumped into the “douchey” category for me, both of these included
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u] - was super popular during my emo phase in the late 2000s, so I will probably always picture an emo boy when I hear [name_u]Aiden[/name_u]
[name_u]Bret[/name_u] - I imagine a really macho guy, similar to other Br- names but this one sounds older than [name_m]Braxton[/name_m]/[name_u]Brayden[/name_u]
[name_m]Don[/name_m] - another dad name, probably short for [name_m]Donald[/name_m]
[name_m]Franklin[/name_m] - sounds like an older man, but my first association is FDR, so it feels very distinguished
[name_m]Harvey[/name_m] - still a bit old man, but it has such an upbeat sound!
[name_m]Jose[/name_m] - such a common name, there’s nothing really specific I think of for it
[name_u]Lee[/name_u] - I’ve heard it much more often as a middle name, but as a first, it’s really cool!

[name_u]Barry[/name_u] - Makes me think of berries, which isn’t a bad association but it’s kind of “eh” to me. But it’s fine.
[name_u]Dorian[/name_u] - I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]DORIAN[/name_u]. [name_m]FAVORITE[/name_m] BY FAR. It’s so elegant for a boy’s name. [name_u]Love[/name_u] love love.
[name_m]Fernand[/name_m] - This feels incomplete, like it should either be [name_m]Fernando[/name_m] or [name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m].
[name_m]Humberto[/name_m] - There is nothing about this name I like. I can’t explain why, I just really dislike the sound of it.
[name_u]Jerry[/name_u] - It’s fine, although it does make me think of [name_m]Tom[/name_m] & [name_u]Jerry[/name_u] or [name_m]Parks[/name_m] & Rec.
[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] - I really like this name! Very cool.
[name_m]Nestor[/name_m] - Nothing special about it for me. Makes me think of “empty nester.”
[name_m]Semaj[/name_m] - It’s interesting, never heard it before. I think it could grow on me if I knew someone with the name.
[name_m]Braxton[/name_m] - It’s fine but feels very 2015 trendy to me.
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u] - Very popular but I do like the name. I prefer [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] though!
[name_u]Brayden[/name_u] - I liked this name a few years ago but now its trendiness annoys me. It’s not a bad name though.
[name_u]Bret[/name_u] - Bad personal association, but either way I’d prefer [name_u]Brett[/name_u].
[name_m]Don[/name_m] - Hate it. It reminds me of my current president, who I can’t stand.
[name_m]Franklin[/name_m] - This is a very sweet name, I like its vibe.
[name_m]Harvey[/name_m] - I didn’t like this name until I watched a show with a character named [name_m]Harvey[/name_m], and now I like it more but it still feels like an older man’s name to me.
[name_m]Jose[/name_m] - Feels too common, and he’d probably hear “no way [name_m]Jose[/name_m]” a lot.
[name_u]Lee[/name_u] - It’s fine. Nothing special but nothing wrong with it either.

Favorites are bolded.

hmmm why would you think so? I know of a [name_m]Humberto[/name_m] but he was born in the middle of the 1990s
