Opinion on these names?

Me and my husband cant not decide on what to name our first child. We came up with a few ideas that we are really fond of. Can you please give us your honest opinion on what you think of them?

[name]Ashlee[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Erica[/name] [name]Meghan[/name]
[name]Shiloe[/name] [name]Nicole[/name]
[name]Alanna[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Brittany[/name] ?
[name]Liliah[/name] ?

Honestly? I’m sorry but I find them either too trendy or too dated. [name]Ashlee[/name], [name]Erica[/name] and [name]Brittany[/name] are really eighties to me. Not bad names, just not very fresh sounding. [name]Shiloe[/name] is all [name]Jolie[/name]-[name]Pitt[/name] to me, and I like it better spelled they way they spell it, [name]Shiloh[/name], like the place. I would also like [name]Ashley[/name] better spelled [name]Ashley[/name]. [name]Liliah[/name] is pretty but I prefer [name]Leila[/name] or [name]Lilah[/name]. When I first read it, I thought it said [name]Lilah[/name], so you would just have to be prepared for it to get mispronounced a lot. [name]Alanna[/name] is my favorite of all of your names. It’s still a bit eighties but it has a pretty sound and seems much less common than [name]Brittany[/name].

Your middle names seem sort of like generic fillers to me. Are they family names? I think either more unique or family names are fun for the middle spot.

I agree with everything justthinkin said. If those are the names you love though, use them:)

[name]Hi[/name], [name]Chrissy[/name]. I completely second Justthinkin’s post.

[name]Mariana[/name]
[name]Marisol[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name]

[name]Rosabelle[/name]
Rosamel

[name]Hi[/name] ChrissyLynn, thanks for sharing. Of your list, I really like [name]Alanna[/name] and [name]Liliah[/name] but without the h so it’s [name]Lilia[/name], so it doesn’t get confused with [name]Lilah[/name] (unless the extra i was a typo, in which case I like [name]Lilah[/name], too). I also think [name]Erica[/name] is nice. I have to echo what some of the others have said about middle names, though; they are pretty but they are very typical middle names. Have you considered using [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Marie[/name] as first names? I like [name]Jill[/name]'s suggestions, and here are a few extra ideas, in case you’re interested:

[name]Alanna[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Alanna[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Alanna[/name] [name]Gwen[/name]

[name]Erica[/name] [name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Erica[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Erica[/name] [name]Willow[/name]

[name]Lilia[/name] [name]Meghan[/name]
[name]Lilia[/name] [name]Margot[/name]
[name]Lilia[/name] [name]Paige[/name]

[name]Nicola[/name] [name]Shiloh[/name]
[name]Marie[/name] [name]Alanna[/name]
[name]Rosa[/name] [name]Natalie[/name]

P.S. I really liked the name [name]Brittany[/name] growing up but have lost my enthusiasm after [name]Britney[/name] Spears, unfortunately, like a lot of people have. If you both really like that name and are alright with the [name]Britney[/name] Spears association, then go with your heart; otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend it except maybe as a middle name.

Sorry, but I’m not a fan of most of a lot of those names. But I do love [name]Shiloh[/name], and [name]Alanna[/name] is okay.

[name]Shiloh[/name] [name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Shiloh[/name] [name]Regina[/name]
[name]Shiloh[/name] [name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Shiloh[/name] [name]Cecily[/name]
[name]Shiloh[/name] [name]Geneva[/name]

I really like the suggestions of
[name]Alanna[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Alanna[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Nicola[/name] [name]Shiloh[/name]
[name]Erica[/name] [name]Willow[/name]

I agree the names are too dated! Im in my twenties and i had three brittany, megans in my classes. [name]Liliah[/name], [name]Lilly[/name], [name]Liliana[/name] are really nice classic names. [name]Shiloh[/name] with out an e is also very nice.

upsidedown, I really like your suggestions with [name]Shiloh[/name]–those are great!
