Lately I have fallen in love with the name [name_f]Timea[/name_f]. It’s a hungarian name that is also used in my country and has a lovely meaning. It’s sleek and simple which is a positive for me. But is it usable outside of Europe? Would it get mispelled a lot in the western world? What would you think if you met a person named [name_f]Timea[/name_f]? And what about the nicknames? I personally love [name_m]Timmy[/name_m] for a little girl. Let me know what you think!

Hey, fellow Teenberry! Is this pronounced tih-MAY-uh? I like it. It’s distinctive, though some people (especially in the states, I believe) might mispornounce it like TIH-mee-uh, TIH-muh, etc. Have you considered Timotea or [name_f]Timothea[/name_f], or Euthymia? I like the meaning [name_u]Honor[/name_u]. If you’re worried about pronunciation you could try Timmea or Timmia (latter if it’s TIH-mee-uh). Nicknames: [name_m]Timmy[/name_m], Mea/Mia, [name_f]Tea[/name_f] (TAY uh)

Is it pronounced Tim-ee-uh or Tim-ay-uh (or something else!)?
It has an appealing look and think it could grow on me; I’d be excited to meet a [name_f]Timea[/name_f]! [name_m]Timmy[/name_m] for a girl is so cool too - and you’ve also got [name_f]Tia[/name_f], [name_f]Immi[/name_f], Mims, [name_f]Mimi[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], and Tee too!!

[name_f]English[/name_f] speakers might focus on the word time and say “TIME-uh”.

Surprisingly, I like it more than I thought I would! It gives me similar vibes to [name_f]Mattea[/name_f], but feels a bit lighter — and [name_m]Timmy[/name_m] on a girl is so sweet 
[name_f]My[/name_f] first instinct was to pronounce it tih-MAY-uh (I’m from the US). [name_f]Mae[/name_f] would make a lovely nickname!

It’s nice! I think it has a nice sound, when I first saw it, i guessed it’d be pronounce Ty-mee-uh, but tih-may-uh was my second guess.

Yeah, it’s usable. But in Hungarian, it would be spelt Tímea and pronounced TEE-meh-aw.

It’s lovely looking, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t know how to pronounce it! TIM-ee-uh? tye-MAY-uh? tih-MEE-uh? I’ve got a lot of ideas. 
Though, once corrected, I don’t think it would be at all difficult for me to remember how to say this name. It’s pretty, and I enjoy any pronunciation I can come up with. [name_m]Timmy[/name_m] as a nickname is golden. I adore that.
I definitely would have thought it was timmy-ah, but I like tih-MAY-ah much better! It has a lovely sound!
