[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I need an opinion on these two girls names because I am having twins and really like these names! I already have two twin girls (aged 3) named [name_f]Summer[/name_f] and [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and was thinking of doing [name_f]Spring[/name_f] and [name_u]Winter[/name_u], and then me and my husband kind of convinced ourselves that it would be a bit silly when they are older We were thinking Demitria ([name_f]Demi[/name_f] usually) and [name_f]Hildegarde[/name_f] ([name_f]Hildy[/name_f]). You can tell we want names that stand out in the class! I really just want honest opinions because I don’t want to end up with a name that makes people wonder ‘why?’
[name_f]Summer[/name_f] and [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] are extremely different than Demitria and [name_f]Hildegard[/name_f]… I’m not a fan. Maybe go with month names next, like [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]April[/name_f], [name_f]May[/name_f]. [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is a nice name but spring is not imo. You kind of dug yourself into a rut with summer and autumn
[name_f]Summer[/name_f] and [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] are quite modern, trendy names, so I’m not sure Demitria and [name_f]Hildegard[/name_f] fit this bill. I’m tempted to suggest you go with [name_f]Demi[/name_f], not Demitria, as the full name, and then maybe a name like [name_f]May[/name_f] or [name_u]June[/name_u] as @kipperbo1 suggested. I almost recommended [name_f]Avril[/name_f] ([name_m]French[/name_m] for [name_f]April[/name_f]) before I realised you’d be having a bit of a pop culture theme going on with [name_f]Demi[/name_f] and [name_f]Avril[/name_f]!
Sometimes I wonder why we had to choose matching names for the twins because it is so annoying to match when you have another pair! I might go down the month route but I really like the name [name_f]Demi[/name_f] (let’s scrap Demitria) and I’m not sure what would match. [name_f]Demi[/name_f] and [name_f]Avril[/name_f] would be so good if it didn’t have that pop culture reference! I am really stuck now on what to do. [name_u]June[/name_u] would be nice if my friend’s daughter wasn’t named that, and [name_f]May[/name_f] doesn’t really fit with [name_f]Demi[/name_f] (in my opinion it doesn’t fit anyway).
As a twin I recommend not picking matching names - Choose names you love completely distinct from one another. They aren’t a twosome whose names will be said together for very much of their lives! (Same thing with siblings… If you don’t love [name_f]Spring[/name_f] and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] as individual names, then picking them to get the set isn’t a great idea)
[name_f]Hildegard[/name_f]… Is a pretty clear no from me. It’s clunky and would definitely lend itself to some teasing. Perhaps think of something unique but not quite so odd like with your first two. [name_f]Demi[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]? [name_f]Demi[/name_f] and [name_u]James[/name_u]? [name_f]Demi[/name_f] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]?
I find [name_f]Hildegard[/name_f] to be a bit harsh, especially compared to [name_f]Summer[/name_f] and [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]. Maybe just [name_f]Hilde[/name_f] or [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]?
Maybe try [name_u]Demeter[/name_u] instead of [name_f]Demetria[/name_f], since [name_u]Demeter[/name_u] is the greek goddess of agriculture, grain, harvest and growth it kind of fits with your other two names, without being too matchy and you can still use [name_f]Demi[/name_f] as a nickname
As a substitute to [name_u]Winter[/name_u] you could try names that are associated with [name_u]Winter[/name_u] like [name_f]Snow[/name_f] (or [name_f]Eira[/name_f] which means snow), or months as others have suggested
You could also use birthstones:
[name_f]October[/name_f] - [name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_u]January[/name_u] - [name_f]Garnet[/name_f]
[name_f]February[/name_f] - [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f]

I do agree with what you mean about [name_f]Hildegarde[/name_f], it’s is one of those names you may think are nice on the moment and then kind of go off a little when you think it through again. I quite liked the idea of the places names, they were pretty but not one of them said ‘OMG I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] THIS’ if you know what I mean. Also, now that we have had [name_f]Holly[/name_f] mention what it’s like as a twin and all of that side of stuff, I really think that [name_f]Demi[/name_f] should stay so the next name won’t be too matchy. I’m not a fan, sorry. [name_f]Summer[/name_f] and [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] are more common, and have a very specific feel to them. If I were meeting sisters called [name_f]Summer[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], [name_f]Hildy[/name_f], and [name_f]Demi[/name_f], I would assume you and your partner each had children from previous relationships, and were a blended family. They’re just extremely different. [name_f]Hildegarde[/name_f] and Demitria are both lovely in their own right, but I think there are better names out there for your family.
