Definitely [name_f]Colette[/name_f]. Because doesn’t [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] mean “insignificant little thing” or something, from [name_u]Les[/name_u] Mis? And yes, [name_f]Colette[/name_f] and [name_m]Milo[/name_m] work well together.
We know an adorable, three-year-old preschool classmate of my 4th child that’s named [name_f]Colette[/name_f].
On the nameberry page, it just says “little thing,” which I think is cute–but I’m not familiar with the [name_u]Les[/name_u] Mis version besides seeing the movie and hearing the old broadway songs.
I also prefer [name_f]Colette[/name_f] to [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]. Personally I think [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] sounds a little too precious and [name_f]Colette[/name_f] has more potential as a name to grow into. I like [name_m]Milo[/name_m] a lot. As for the two together, I would just say that [name_f]Colette[/name_f] sounds very [name_m]French[/name_m] to me whereas Milo does not.

I think both work perfectly fine and are lovely. They both go with [name_m]Milo[/name_m] without being an unneeded match.
As a [name_u]Les[/name_u] Miserables fan, i like [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]
I prefer [name_f]Colette[/name_f] as well. [name_f]Colette[/name_f] means “victory of the people,” which I think is pretty inspiring, and [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] was made up by [name_m]Victor[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] based on a word that means “little thing.” I think [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] is too tied to the character, and I don’t really find [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] to be a particularly interesting character. [name_u]Les[/name_u] Miserables is among my favorite books, but [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] a bit of a 19th century “pure woman” trope. Personally I’d want something a little stronger for my daughter.
In terms of sound, I find [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] the weaker choice. Perhaps it’s just my associations with the name, but I do think [name_f]Colette[/name_f] actually sounds tougher.
They’re both fine. No difference in terms of matching with respect to [name_m]Milo[/name_m].
Thanks for your suggestions. I really like the suggestion [name_f]Margot[/name_f] & [name_m]Milo[/name_m], especially as twins. I’m going to send all of these to my sister, as well as [name_f]Colette[/name_f]/[name_f]Cosette[/name_f] feelings. Of course please feel free to keep your thoughts coming.
