[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are torn between two girl’s names - [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] or [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] [name_u]Emerson[/name_u].
We think [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] is a great classic name that you don’t hear very often and love the nickname [name_f]Elle[/name_f] for [name_f]Laurel[/name_f], but also think [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is a really cute name that sounds cool as she gets older.
We don’t want something too trendy or out there.
Would love your thoughts and suggestions!
Thanks,
[name_f]Keri[/name_f]
I’m not sure where you live, but [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] (at least in my area) seems like it’s becoming really popular really fast. I’d go with [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] [name_u]Avery[/name_u].
I really dislike [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], to be honest. I think [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] is pretty, familiar but not overly common, and less trendy then [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]. I don’t know any one named [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] but I can’t seem to picture it on an adult.
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f] by a mile. [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is just the new [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] - seems cool and fresh now, but will be dated and dull in 10 years.
to be honest [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] sounds a little boyish to me, [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is lovely… I also keep getting [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and [name_m]Hardy[/name_m] in my head!
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f] by far. [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is cute, but you said that you don’t want something trendy and I consider [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] on the trendy side. I think [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] will age better and it is a beautiful name.
Thank you all for your thoughts - most appreciated! We were also discussing going with [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], but I kept thinking [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] & [name_m]Hardey[/name_m] too:-)
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f] [name_u]Avery[/name_u] is beautiful! If it’s any help, my name is [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and I have always liked my name. It is feminine without being frilly, it has great flower and victory connotations/associations, and the sound is familiar without being popular.
I much prefer [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] over [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]. [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] is one I’ve liked a lot for a long time, while [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] seems way too trendy to me.
