Thank you! Does the aesthetic change if the pronounciation changes? (may-bol VS MAH-behl/belle). The second pronounciation is likely where I live
I think the may-bul prn is more solid and sturdy, leaning the nerdy-cool side of vintage. The mah-belle prn is definitely more delicate and whimsical; fairy-like.
With the first pronunciation [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] has some solid, bright imagery associations for me - jewels, marble, plum tones - all that’s bold and bright and lavish. With the second, it feels more elegant, more muted tones and lace.
I love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]!
The [name_f]Gravity[/name_f] Falls [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] made me love the name. She’s happy, springy, adorable and got that vintage charm. I think my favorite pronunciation is may-bul, but I’m pretty neutral. If the latter pronunciation is most likely in your area, I’d say that’s the one to go with!
I’m so glad to see you give [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] some love!
To me, [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] feels cosy, cuddly, sweet and cheerful - aesthetic wise, I’m thinking hot chocolate on cold days; ice cream on sunny ones, shades of pale pink, blue and lavender, knitted scarves, ditsy flowery patterns, mismatched clothes and tea sets.
The two pronunciations have a very similar feel to me, but maybe ‘Mah-behl’ feels a tiny bit more polished - maybe less mismatched clothes and tea sets, more like perfectly co-ordinated sets
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] pronounced may-bel feels very whimsical and cottagecore! [name_f]Sunny[/name_f] spring days, porcelain tea sets with flowers hand-painted on them, playing in the mud in your checkered blue dress. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] pronounced mah-bel has a very different feel to me: almost like a warmer [name_f]Adela[/name_f]? Not exactly regal, but elegant, polished, and peaceful.
I love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]! I never used to be a fan, but she’s grown on me a lot lately. I love the charming, vintage vibes.
I have [name_f]Adela[/name_f] in my list already
