[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] lists!
Here are my thoughts:
Girls:
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] *-This isn’t my personal favorite, but I have no good reason. It’s a name that I should like. It’s bold & elegant, feminine w/out being too fussy, unique yet not too complicated. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]?
[name_f]Helena[/name_f]-I think that this name could invite some pronunciation issues. Is it ‘hell-uh-nuh’ or ‘hell-ain-uh’? I prefer the latter, but it’s not my favorite name either way. [name_m]Just[/name_m] doesn’t give me the best imagery for whatever reason. [name_m]Just[/name_m] my opinion. It’s not a bad name.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]-Aw, very sweet. Such a cheerful sing song-y feeling. It’s classic & not super common. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] would be stunning. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is neat too.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]-Smart & pretty. It has a kind homey feeling, but also seems like a little book worm. It’s a tad common if that bothers you, but not over the top popular. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is fantastic.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] *-I love love love this name. It’s my sweet little kitty’s name, whom I’m completely head over heels for. Maybe a little biased! I named her fourteen years ago. It seemed unique back then, but it’s skyrocketed up the charts since then. And with good reasoning, because it’s such a great name. Perfect balance of vintage feminine charm with sophistication & sweetness. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]?
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]-This is just as popular as [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], but not as good in my opinion. It’s a nice classic, but just doesn’t sparkle for me. The ‘char’ part never seemed that attractive in my opinion. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I just suggested it as a mn for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], LOL. It sounds good there.
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]-This is lovely. Similar to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], but a little bit more exotic. And less common. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]?
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]-This is cute, but maybe a little clunky.
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]-I don’t know. It just seems to lack substance as a full name. I’m okay w/names like [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Polly[/name_f] on their own, but for some reason [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] seems to nick-namey. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] nn [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] is kind of cute.
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] *-I love it! It’s #2 on my list. And I love it with the nn [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] specifically. [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] being my great grandma’s name. [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] also makes it stand out a bit more, because [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]/[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is very popular. But I see this name as similar to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. Perfect balance of vintage feminine charm with sophistication & sweetness. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is stunning.
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]-This is pretty good. I think maybe it’s too fussy for me, but I don’t dislike it. I do love just [name_f]Delia[/name_f] or [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Cora[/name_f] makes it a little more approachable. I also like [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nellie[/name_f].
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]-This is nice. A bit fancy, but simple at the same time. It’s sort of common, at least in my area. But a prety name. [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] are nice.
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]-I like this, but foresee pronunciation issues. Loo-see-uh, Loo-she-uh or Loo-sha? I like Loo-see-uh a lot. Cute nn options too. I also like [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] or [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], which seem a little bit easier.
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]-I absolutely love this name. I’ve loved it since circa 2001, but since then more & more Addies take over the schools and playgrounds. Mostly Addisons & Adelyns (I meet sooo many Adelyns…), that [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is seeming less special. Its is beautiful, but I just personally wouldn’t do it.
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]-This isn’t a name that’s typically on my radar, but it’s exotic & different. And I love the possibility of the nn [name_f]Livy[/name_f].
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]-I want to like this. It has vintage charm & the sweet nn of [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]. It just sounds a bit clunky to me though.
Boys:
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] *-This is darling. Super popular, but a great name. Sort of posh, but not in a snobby way. In a cute way. I like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] or [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Linus[/name_m].
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]-This is nice. Kind of artsy & nature-y feeling. It’s one of those names that strong & soft at once. Maybe [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]?
[name_m]Milo[/name_m]-Super cute. Quirky & lovable. [name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]?
[name_u]August[/name_u] *-I like this. Very handsome. It’s strong yet sort of gentle & artsy feeling too. And I love [name_m]Augie[/name_m] or [name_u]Gus[/name_u]. [name_u]August[/name_u] is recognizable, but not super over done. [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] would be good. Or [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]-This is charming. [name_m]Way[/name_m] popular in my area, but I think that may be a fluke. It’s vintage, strong & a little quirky. I love the nn [name_u]Ari[/name_u]. That’s my other kitty’s name. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]?
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]-This is nice. It doesn’t super sparkle for me, but it’s a good solid name. I like [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] better, but this is more unique.
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]-I just recently started liking this name, & I’m already getting sick of it, LOL. It’s just because name nerds on this board mention it so much. It’s kind of fun & unique in the real world.
[name_u]Elias[/name_u]-This is nice. My favorite ‘[name_m]Eli[/name_m]’ name. It sounds the most charming. [name_m]Eli[/name_m] is very popular. Mostly [name_u]Elis[/name_u] & Elijahs.
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]-This is okay. It’s tricky to say, but that may just be me.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]-This is adorable, but getting really common. I love the nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], but hear it a lot. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u] is nice. Or [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Linus[/name_m].
[name_m]Jack[/name_m]-A very cool sharp sounding classic. Very over done, but a great name.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]-I hear this a lot too, but I like it. It’s fun & simple. I like [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m].
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u]-[name_u]Love[/name_u] this one. It’s really fun to say. Sounds smart & kind. [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]?
[name_m]Linus[/name_m]-I think that this is the most interesting from your list. It’s nerdy, but I think doable! Charming & unique, but perfectly simple. [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] or [name_m]Linus[/name_m] [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] would be adorable.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
