Opinions and Help

My fave girl’s name at the moment is [name]Maeve[/name] [name]Winter[/name] - I think it goes so well with my DD [name]Calla[/name] [name]Rain[/name].

But I’m falling for Lumi and know that DP loves the name as well, so want to find a good combo for it, just in case. Lumi is a Finnish word for snow. We currently live in Finland so it wouldn’t be unusual here (unlike [name]Maeve[/name]).

At the moment I’ve been playing with Lumi [name]Artemis[/name] which I think is cool, but I do use my children’s middle names often and this combo is harder to say and doesn’t sound as good with C’s name.

Any opinions on Lumi [name]Artemis[/name]?
Any suggestions for other combos? It doesn’t have to be a nature/word name, but I do like them. I would like it to be not frilly, old fashioned or biblical.

Thanks in advance.

[name]Maeve[/name] [name]Winter[/name] and [name]Calla[/name] [name]Rain[/name] would be stunning sisters.

Have you been to Porvoo? Yes? I am sure you have if you are living in Finland. [name]Do[/name] you remember the delightful Cafe Helmi? I think that Helmi would make a beautiful choice it is sweet, feminine and flows with a soft lilt to it.wdyt?

rollo

Hei, yes, I’ve been to Porvoo and know Cafe Helmi. [name]Don[/name]'t like the name though.

sorry, maybe wasn’t clear I would like other combos for Lumi. Pretty set on that Finnish name regardless. [name]Maeve[/name] would be [name]Maeve[/name] [name]Winter[/name] Lumi as C has a Finnish name as well.

Lumi is a sweet name! (It reminds me of [name]Suvi[/name], which I love, but husband doesn’t) I do think it goes well with [name]Calla[/name], actually. [name]Both[/name] are soft, short, and nature-y.

Lumi [name]Artemis[/name] is hard to say, though I’m having trouble figuring out exactly why. Other A-names sound better, as do other longish names. It might just be that [name]Artemis[/name] is hard to say. Hmm… I kind of like the idea of using another flower for a middle name so that each girl would have a botanical name and a weather name. But then you might feel as though you were locked into that pattern in the future, so it depends on what your plans & preferences are. [name]Do[/name] you like any of these combos?

Lumi [name]Afternoon[/name]
Lumi [name]Athena[/name]
Lumi [name]Blossom[/name]
Lumi [name]Blythe[/name]
Lumi [name]Dove[/name]
Lumi [name]Fawn[/name]
Lumi [name]Fay/name
Lumi [name]Flora[/name]
Lumi [name]Fern[/name]
Lumi [name]Niobe[/name]
Lumi [name]Pallas[/name]
Lumi [name]Paloma[/name]
Lumi [name]Pearl[/name]
Lumi [name]Plum[/name]
Lumi [name]Sage[/name]
Lumi [name]Violet[/name]
Lumi [name]Zephyrine[/name]

Thanks, I think 1 syllable and longer names work better than 2 syllable one

From your list I like

Lumi [name]Athena[/name] - would prefer [name]Ariadne[/name], but it’s hard to say like [name]Artemis[/name]
Lumi [name]Blythe[/name]
Lumi [name]Niobe[/name]
Lumi [name]Pearl[/name] - I like the idea of this more than the name
Lumi [name]Zephyrine[/name] - kind of cool but not easy to say

I like the idea of using another flower/plant name to go with [name]Calla[/name]'s

What do people think of?

Lumi Chrysanth
Lumi [name]Cassia[/name] - don’t think these first two work but give you an idea of the kinds of names I like
Lumi Eirlys
Lumi [name]Willow[/name]
Lumi [name]Wylda[/name]
Lumi Elowen

any other suggestions of non-trendy flower/plant names?

Been looking on and off all day and now thinking of

Lumi [name]Iris[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
Lumi Eirys [name]Maeve[/name] (pronounced like [name]Iris[/name])
Lumi [name]Rowan[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]

Any opinions or other suggestions?

Agreed that 1 or 3+ seems to sound the best. Adding [name]Maeve[/name] as a second middle makes a 2 syllable flow-y though! All your +[name]Maeve[/name] combos sound great. Personally, [name]Rowan[/name] is my least favorite of the three, as it’s the trendiest, at least in the US. My thoughts on your others…

Lumi Chrysanth
I think Lumi Chrysanthe flows a little better. I actually really like this.

Lumi [name]Cassia[/name] - don’t think these first two work but give you an idea of the kinds of names I like
[name]How[/name] do you pronounce [name]Cassia[/name]? Some people say it with three syllables, which trips along nicely enough.

Lumi Eirlys
The double “snow” meaning is kind of neat. (I assume she will be a winter baby?). Sounds nice with [name]Maeve[/name] added, but doesn’t flow as well without it.

Lumi [name]Willow[/name]
Pretty but not as zingy as your other ideas.

Lumi [name]Wylda[/name]
[name]Wylda[/name] is a bit dated to my ears, and the flow isn’t as good as some others either.

Lumi Elowen
Delightful to say/hear! Nicely subtle botanical.

I think my favorites (in no order) are Lumi Chrysanthe, Lumi Elowen, and Lumi [name]Iris[/name]/Eirys [name]Maeve[/name].
