Hello,
I have recently started to take a liking to [name_u]Remington[/name_u] nn [name_u]Remy[/name_u]/[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] and [name_u]Ellington[/name_u] nn [name_f]Elle[/name_f] for a girl. Both these names a very different to my other favourites but just out of curiosity, what do you guys think of them? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think they have the same style as one another or are different? Can you see either of them working on a girl?
And what would you name a sibling of [name_u]Remington[/name_u] or [name_u]Ellington[/name_u]?
Thanks!!
They are quite different to your other names, but they’re quite nice. I like the surnamey feel, the girly nn options and the soft yet strong sounds
As a sister for [name_u]Ellington[/name_u] or [name_u]Remington[/name_u], I’d expect…
[name_m]Kerrigan[/name_m] ([name_u]Kerry[/name_u])
[name_u]Campbell[/name_u] ([name_f]Cammie[/name_f], [name_f]Bella[/name_f], [name_f]Belle[/name_f])
[name_u]Addison[/name_u] ([name_f]Addie[/name_f])
[name_m]Sumner[/name_m] ([name_u]Sunny[/name_u])
[name_u]Barrett[/name_u] ([name_f]Betty[/name_f])
[name_u]Madigan[/name_u] ([name_f]Maggie[/name_f], [name_f]Maddie[/name_f])
[name_u]Waverly[/name_u] ([name_f]Ava[/name_f])
[name_m]Arlington[/name_m] ([name_u]Arlie[/name_u], [name_f]Aria[/name_f], [name_u]Ari[/name_u])
[name_m]Kensington[/name_m] ([name_u]Kenzie[/name_u])
[name_f]Camber[/name_f]/Camberly ([name_f]Cammie[/name_f], [name_f]Ami[/name_f])
[name_u]Brighton[/name_u] ([name_f]Bee[/name_f], [name_f]Bri[/name_f], [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f])
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] ([name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_f]Etta[/name_f])
[name_u]Everest[/name_u] ([name_f]Essie[/name_f], [name_f]Este[/name_f], [name_f]Ester[/name_f], [name_u]Ever[/name_u])
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] ([name_u]Perry[/name_u])
Thanks @greyblue! I love the suggestions of [name_m]Kensington[/name_m] and [name_u]Brighton[/name_u].
I do think they are overlapping styles, and they happen to sound very similar. Both are surname names, but they give me different impressions. [name_u]Ellington[/name_u] is okay for me, because of [name_m]Duke[/name_m] [name_u]Ellington[/name_u], and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] isn’t a bad nickname. The gun association with [name_u]Remington[/name_u] really puts me off.
If I saw a little girl named [name_u]Ellington[/name_u], I’d definitely expect music inspired names for her siblings. [name_u]Simone[/name_u], [name_m]Bowie[/name_m], [name_f]Etta[/name_f], [name_u]Lennon[/name_u], [name_f]Loretta[/name_f], [name_m]Cash[/name_m], [name_m]Davis[/name_m], [name_u]Billie[/name_u], [name_m]Hendrix[/name_m], [name_m]Morrison[/name_m],
[name_f]Janis[/name_f] … the list could go on forever.
[name_u]Remington[/name_u] really gives me kind of an obnoxious yeehaw feeling, and I just see kids with really rambunctious names. [name_m]Maverick[/name_m], [name_u]Rebel[/name_u], [name_m]Rider[/name_m], [name_u]Hunter[/name_u]. I have a hard time imagining it on a girl.
Never in a million years. [name_u]Remington[/name_u] is a gun manufacturer…why would you give that name to a girl? [name_u]Ellington[/name_u] sounds like you are trying really, really hard to come up with something that’s not [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] or [name_u]Emery[/name_u]. But I do like [name_m]Duke[/name_m] [name_u]Ellington[/name_u]!
[name_u]Remington[/name_u] [name_u]Steele[/name_u] !
You may be too young to have watched this but if you name a girl [name_u]Remington[/name_u] you should know it as I imagine there will be people asking if you know it.
[name_u]Ellington[/name_u] I think can also work well.
[name_u]Remy[/name_u] & [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] are very sweet.
