opinions between 2 names please!!!

My husband and I are expecting our first baby in [name]April[/name] and it’s a girl. He loves the name [name]Addison[/name] and I like it too, but I am concerned it is too popular right now. I like the name [name]Piper[/name] as well. He does too. Soooooo, which do you like better? [name]Addison[/name] or [name]Piper[/name]?
Thanks!!!

[name]Addison[/name] is currently #11, so while I prefer it to [name]Piper[/name], just realize that she’s probably not going to be the only one in her class.

You both seem to like boyish names, so what do you think of:

[name]Sydney[/name]
[name]Peyton[/name]
[name]Kendall[/name]
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Ellery[/name]
[name]Auden[/name]
[name]Harper[/name]
[name]Larkin[/name]
[name]Marley[/name]
[name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Hayden[/name]

I know you didn’t actually ask for suggestions, but I couldn’t help myself.

[name]Piper[/name] is adorable! [name]Addison[/name] is way too popular for my tastes! But even if that weren’t an issue, I’d prefer [name]Piper[/name]… sounds so happy!

Thanks for the ideas!!! I love them. I do like more boyish names. I know that [name]Addison[/name] is popular right now and that was my thing with it. I didn’t want her to be #7 [name]Addison[/name] in her class.

so sweet of you to say [name]Piper[/name] sounded so happy!!! THat’s what i thought too!

[name]Hi[/name] there. Between [name]Addison[/name] and [name]Piper[/name], I’d definitely go with [name]Piper[/name]. In addition to [name]Addison[/name] being very popular and masculine, when I hear the name, I think of [name]Addison[/name]'s Disease, a terrible condition from which my neighbor suffers.

[name]Piper[/name], on the other hand, has a whimsical feel to it. I picture a peppy and delightful little girl when I hear [name]Piper[/name], and if it were me, [name]Piper[/name] would be my pick. (Unless, of course, your last name doesn’t work with [name]Piper[/name].)

If you wanted to used [name]Addison[/name] as a means of getting the nickname “[name]Addie[/name],” you could always use the classic and feminine [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Adeline[/name], or [name]Adelia[/name].

Best wishes to you!

my last name is [name]Gray[/name].
Does [name]Piper[/name] [name]Gray[/name] sound good? I thought so

Another vote for [name]Piper[/name]! [name]Piper[/name] [name]Gray[/name] sounds fantastic (like an author!).

[name]Piper[/name] [name]Gray[/name] is perfect! What are you thinking for the middle name?

hahaha. That’s what I thought…it sounds like an author. A family middle name is [name]Marie[/name] and I really wanted to use it. So maybe [name]Piper[/name] [name]Marie[/name] [name]Gray[/name]. Any ideas about that? I like simple middle names. Not too long.

Awe! [name]Piper[/name] [name]Gray[/name] is adorable! While I understand that [name]Marie[/name] is a family name, I think you could do better, as [name]Marie[/name] seems like a filler. Although you said you like short middle names, I’m going to include the longer ones I found, as I think they sound great with [name]Piper[/name] and [name]Gray[/name]. (For me, a longer middle name is needed, but that’s just me!) Avoid all middle names beginning with “I,” and you’ll be fine…

[name]Piper[/name] [name]Addison[/name] [name]Gray[/name](You liked [name]Addison[/name] for a first name, so why not put it in the middle?)

[name]Piper[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Gray[/name]

Best wishes to you!

what is your opinion on piper being good for an adult as well as a child.

While I do think that [name]Piper[/name] is a darling, upbeat name on a little girl, I honestly don’t think it ages very well. :frowning:

[name]Piper[/name] was one of the sisters on Charmed, and it never seemed immature on her.

It’s a subjective thing. My name, [name]Jill[/name], like [name]Piper[/name], is a very high-energy name, and I’ve always hated how young and perky it sounds. For me, although I love it, [name]Piper[/name] is another high-energy, adorable name that sounds great on children, but doesn’t age very well. I’ve always wished I had a more mature sounding name, because while my name fit me perfectly as a little girl, I really crave something more substantial now.

I vote for [name]Piper[/name]!

[name]Piper[/name] [name]Brynn[/name] is a fav of mine!

I am torn on whether or not I think [name]Piper[/name] ages well. Right now I think it does, but I don’t know if it’s because I like it so much. I just like how it isn’t so popular. Although [name]Addison[/name] is such a pretty name and it sounds great with our last name, [name]Gray[/name]. It seems so popular right now. But I know that it probably won’t be as popular in the next few years, I just don’t want her to be one of a million [name]Addison[/name]'s. But I do like [name]Piper[/name] very much. And I could see an adult with that name. Right???

[name]Love[/name] [name]Piper[/name] [name]Marie[/name]. Beautiful.

If you think [name]Piper[/name] ages well, that’s all that matters. Your opinion is truly the only one that holds any significance, as it’s your baby girl. If you feel comfortable with the name, then you should definitely go for it!

Thanks for all of the advice. I really appreciate everyones input. I think now it is just something that my husband and I have to decide on. But whether we name her [name]Addison[/name] or [name]Piper[/name] I know that it will fit her perfectly. Hopefully we can come to a decision without wanting to strangle eachother. hahahaha
