I have my boys’ list set. I would like to get your opinions and alternative suggestions for my girls’ list! I’ll post my boy’s list so you can get an idea of the style/type of name I go for.
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] - This is lovely but i would much prefer [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Flora[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] - dislike sorry…I think I would like it better with [name]Catherine[/name] in the front…but I just don’t like [name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Araminta[/name] [name]Alice[/name] - This is great but i like it better [name]Alice[/name] [name]Araminta[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name] [name]Juniper[/name] - Pretty, but again, i like it better [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Primrose[/name] - Oh [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Persephone[/name] [name]Belle[/name] - [name]Persephone[/name] is my #1 favorite girls name but I don’t like [name]Belle[/name] with it. I prefer a slightly longer name…suggestions at the bottom
[name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Phoebe[/name] - Again, i love it [name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Valentine[/name] (val-en-teen) - dislike sorry
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] - I love [name]Daphne[/name] but really dislike [name]Cordelia[/name]. It’s a nice name but her story is sad…are you liking it for the sound or for it’s connection with [name]Shakespeare[/name]?
[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] and [name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Phoebe[/name]! My brain is pretty fried right now, so I’m not sure I’ll be great at suggestions, but I think those are just stunning! I really like [name]Alice[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Primrose[/name], and [name]Catherine[/name]. Have you considered the French [name]Fleur[/name] instead of [name]Flora[/name]? I think [name]Fleur[/name] is just lovely.
Thanks all! I’ve tried playing around with some of the combos you’ve suggested ([name]Genevie[/name], thanks so much for the list of suggestions - I’ll be toying with those later);
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Persephone[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Alice[/name]/[name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Wren[/name]?
[name]Clementine[/name] [name]Araminta[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name] [name]Valentine[/name]
[name]Juniper[/name] [name]Tallulah[/name] (I like this - makes [name]Tallulah[/name] seem more grown-up!)
[name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Daphne[/name]
(I like [name]Cordelia[/name] because of the meanings, and also because I just watched Brideshead Revisited, the film version, and liked it on [name]Felicity[/name] [name]Jones[/name])
What do you think? I’m torn really between [name]Tallulah[/name] and [name]Araminta[/name]. I get a dull brown feeling from [name]Cordelia[/name]…I wish I didn’t, it’s such a lovely and elegant name with history! I feel that [name]Araminta[/name] is a more sprightly version of it, with nicknames I’m more fond of, but [name]Tallulah[/name]…the meanings and sound are gorgeous, but I’m not sure its sophisticated enough, or has enough history behind it. An American actress, a waterfall, and a saint aren’t bad…but does it scream “Southern” to anyone? Also, would [name]Araminta[/name] seem completely ridiculous on a non-English, non-titled girl?
I have a little Talulah of my own. Talulah [name]Bliss[/name]. And her baby sister is [name]Lorelai[/name] [name]Belle[/name]. I love that your list has so many different names! I keep reading the same names over and over in announcements, you’ve got some good ones there.
Thanks, angiet! If you don’t mind my asking, what area do you live in, and what reactions have you gotten to Talulah? Your daughters’ names are so cute!
