[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all!
I’ve recently been adding to my first name list, and I’d love to know your opinions! Please say whatever you like about any of them, no matter how harsh- I need to know people’s honest opinions. Quick note: I live in [name_f]England[/name_f], so some names that seem unusual to Americans are popular here, and vice versa!
Here are the names:
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] (willa-meena or willa-myna?)
[name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] (jossa-lin or jo-seh-lin?)
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Leona[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] (lie-ra or leer-ra?)
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
Thanks for any opinions!
My favorites are [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. As far as pronounciations go, I would say [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] (willa-meena), [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] (jossa-lin), [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] (leer-ra).
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] ~ [name_u]Love[/name_u] it! It’s really been growing on me lately, and the possible nn [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] is adorable.
[name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] ~ So sweet. I love [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f], too. I know a 5yo with this name and she is spunky, outgoing, and crazy imaginative.
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] ~ I adore [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], too. It’s got a southern charm here in the U.S. that is just delightful.
[name_f]Leona[/name_f] ~ Unfortunately, my only association is [name_f]Cece[/name_f]'s mom in the movie Beaches and so I just can’t bring myself to like this name. It just makes me think loud, pushy, 1960s momma.
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] ~ I pronounce it Leer-ah. I love it for its gentle musicality.
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f] ~ It’s not really my style, and I’m just pretty indifferent to it. I like that it means freedom, and I love potential nn [name_f]Libby[/name_f].
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] ~ Gorgeous! It so spirited and bubbly while also feminine and soft.
