[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Here’s my current shortlist; please let me know any opinions you have on these names, and also any suggestions for names with a similar vibe to these!
If it helps with suggestions, names that I liked but didn’t make it to the shortlist are [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (as it’s becoming quite popular in the U.K. right now) and [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] (I thought it might be a little bit too much!)
I looooove [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] the most! It’s a great name as it’s pretty uncommon so it feels very fresh, but because it’s a word name, it’s easy to spell despite being quite long!
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]- the whole [name_u]Addison[/name_u] and [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] trend is very popular and overrated
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]- I absolutely adore this name, and I love [name_u]Noli[/name_u] for a nickname
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f]- it’s cute but I’m not a huge fan of this name
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]- not a huge fan of it,
Cecilia-I think it’s cute and [name_f]Cici[/name_f] is a cute nickname
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]- I would never use it but I think it’s cute. I like the [name_u]Anne[/name_u] Of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables reference (Cordelia [name_u]Anne[/name_u] would be cute)
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] just wins my favorite spot today, but [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] are very, very close! Thoughts on each name:
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]- it’s classy and pretty, just not the most interesting name to me. I much prefer the spunky [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]!
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]- sweet, southern American (although you say you’re in the UK, so this association might not be as strong for you), very elegant, and filled with character! I love the nickname [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], too, as long as she’s also called by her full, beautiful name.
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f]- I like it in theory; it’s sophisticated and smart. But I think it’s a bit heavy for a real person.
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]- beautiful, sweet, very feminine name with a beautiful meaning. It also gives me some southern American vibes, although not as much as [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f].
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]- I love this name! It’s so feminine and fun to say!
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]- pretty, really cool meaning, but too formal for my taste.
Firstly about the ones that missed the shortcut [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] has always been popular but she isn’t rising in popularity she’s just a stable classic therefore will always verge on popular. But I wouldn’t say she’s fashionable/trendy like [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is. I’m in [name_u]South[/name_u] [name_u]East[/name_u] [name_f]England[/name_f] and personally haven’t met a baby/young child named [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Concerning [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] she’s so cool and energetic yes she does have that upper crust [name_u]Brit[/name_u] vibe but I think she’s cool. Also [name_f]Minty[/name_f] could be a cute nickname.
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] ~ a very elegant name but I think the ‘Addie’ names are rising in popularity in the U.K. if popularity is a concern for you I wouldn’t personally use. Since attending toddler groups I’ve met a few Adelines.
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] ~ such a southern [name_f]Belle[/name_f] name so gorgeous practically unheard of here and I think she deserves to be used more often. [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is fab especially with the nickname [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]!
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] ~ absolutely love [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] such a beautiful classic very elegant range of fab nicknames she feels vibrant lovely choice.
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] ~ again I absolutely love [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] really pretty, delicate with this whimsical holy vibe. Really beautiful.
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] ~ again a very pretty name we have really similar taste I think cecilia feels whimsical a lovely vintage choice. But not my favourite on your list.
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] ~ absolutely love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] a gorgeous Shakespearean name she has so much character and style. I love the nickname [name_f]Cordy[/name_f] as well. I think [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is fab!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] & [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] but you have a stunning list
Gosh, your style is so similar to mine, it’s hard to choose a favorite! haha. Top 3 are [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f].
I’ve been hardcore crushing on [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] lately, so that has my vote. A variation of that (that is technically unrelated) to consider is [name_f]Celia[/name_f].
Oh, I love all of these! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter is named [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Fay[/name_f]. I most commonly call her [name_f]Evie[/name_f] or [name_f]Evie[/name_f] [name_f]Fay[/name_f] <3
