Opinions on Aslan Jade

So there’s this anime/manga series called [name_f]Banana[/name_f] [name_m]Fish[/name_m] and one of the main characters names is Aslan [name_f]Jade[/name_f]. What are your honest opinions on it? Personally, I’m obsessed with it.

I’m kind of familiar with the show, my girlfriend watched and described it to me.
It’s cool, I like how it’s very unique but comes with the familiar nickname [name_u]Ash[/name_u]. My first association is the lion from [name_f]Narnia[/name_f], but I don’t think that’s a problem.
Overall a handsome choice, I’d like to meet a little Aslan!
[name_f]Jade[/name_f] is feminine and kinda dated to me, but anything goes in the middle spot.

I agree with emmievis; I think [name_f]Jade[/name_f] is rather feminine. While I agree the middle spot can hold a lot more unusual choices, I don’t think anything goes there and I would not pair Aslan with [name_f]Jade[/name_f]. It makes the whole name sound very contrived/cliche to me, but it’s a name from an anime and often anime character names sound that way to me.

My first thought was also Aslan from [name_f]Narnia[/name_f]. Not a bad connection, but one that many people will make.

Ultimately, if you love it, go for it. It’s definitely not my style, so I don’t particularly enjoy it, but it didn’t matter if I do. It matters if you do.

((Sorry…accidental double post))

I quite like this. I think it’s modern and daring. It’s one of those names not every real-life boy is going to pull off, but that’s true of some of the best ones imo.

I have to disagree about [name_f]Jade[/name_f] being that feminine, it’s actually one of the names I could see swinging from female to male. Nothing in its sound or association is particularly girly to me, it is green after all. But mostly I could see it becoming a known nn for [name_u]Jaden[/name_u]. Its proximity to [name_u]James[/name_u] doesn’t hurt either.

It actually sounds a bit like a girl’s name to me tbh… I find [name_f]Jade[/name_f] to be very feminine (I know it’s technically unisex but I’ve known only girls with the name, and I can’t picture it on a boy). Aslan, while it’s a great boy’s name on its own, sounds a lot like [name_f]Aislyn[/name_f] (I know a couple of girls who say this AYZ-lyn instead of [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f]) or [name_u]Aspen[/name_u], both of which are quite feminine to me. With a soft and uncommon name like Aslan, I think the middle name needs to be distinctly masculine. Aslan [name_f]Jade[/name_f] sounds like a name that a hipster mom would give to a little girl. Aslan [name_u]James[/name_u] or Aslan [name_u]Jude[/name_u] would be wonderful!

I actually adore that combination! Aslan is a lovely name I have thought of many times, but I am just not sure if I could use it. It does have such a gentle and pleasing sound.
[name_f]Jade[/name_f] is a name I absolutely adore, for boys or girls. I don’t find it too particularly feminine at all, it feels neutral to me. It feels like nature.
Overall I would rate Aslan [name_f]Jade[/name_f] 10/10!

This is my feeling as well! [name_f]Jade[/name_f] seems like a name that can cross into the gender neutral sphere quite easily.

Aslan is the lion in The [name_m]Lion[/name_m], The Witch and the Wardrobe and I can’t imagine it on a person. I’m not keen on [name_f]Jade[/name_f] for either sex, though I have only come across it as a girl’s name.

Best leave that one to a fictional character. Probably an unpopular opinion but I dislike the [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] books due to their religious overtones, so I definitely wouldn’t use Aslan. [name_f]Jade[/name_f] is too girly for me to ever take seriously on a boy.

I really like it! It’s cool and unusual.

I really like it :slightly_smiling_face: and I love the name [name_f]Jade[/name_f] for a boy, either as a first or middle- it’s definitely on my gp list for boys and I’d use it one day if we didn’t already have 3 female Jades in the family. Aslan is very strong and masculine too, I think they work well together

I wouldn’t want my fn starting with As

I’m not a fan of the name Aslan, but I do like [name_f]Jade[/name_f]. I think it would work with a longer FN like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] or [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_f]Jade[/name_f].

It’s a bit extra for my taste, but I guess it’s usable.
