Opinions on Dax and Anders

Id love to hear your thoughts on [name_m]Dax[/name_m] and [name_m]Anders[/name_m] . I like them, but they both seem to have a nicknamey feel.

Any longer ways to get there? (I dislike [name_m]Anderson[/name_m])

Anyone know anyone with the name [name_m]Dax[/name_m] (besides the actor)?

Id love to hear comments & suggestions with these two!

I like them both, they both sound Norwegian to me. I don’t know about full names for either of them, I think [name_m]Anders[/name_m] especially stands well on its own. [name_m]Anders[/name_m] reminds me of [name_m]Anders[/name_m] Holm who I love!

I really love [name_m]Anders[/name_m]! I know a boy with this name, and he pulls it off well. I never even thought of it as being short for something.
I’m not as keen on [name_m]Dax[/name_m], to be honest.

I love [name_m]Anders[/name_m] (pronounced awn-ders). It doesn’t feel nicknamey

[name_m]Dax[/name_m] does feel like a nn. Maybe [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] could work as a full name?

Thanks for the feedback. My husband feels that [name_m]Anders[/name_m] sounds feminine and I think he’s crazy because to me it sounds masculine and sporty. I may have to work on him a little more! [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you think it can stand alone.

I may be the only person on nameberry that doesn’t love [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]. Still trying to come up with names that can shorten to [name_m]Dax[/name_m]. Can anyone think of others?

I’ve seen Daxton, Daxter and Daxon listed but personally, I’d go straight to Dax or Anders. I really do like both of them and prefer the short versions. They both read handsome and masculine to me. I don’t care for Dashiell either and I don’t think Dax feels like a natural nickname for it.
