S/o and I have officially found a girls name we love.
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]! [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is my middle name and also my mother’s middle name. Thoughts on the combo?

[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is cute! It’s whimsical, lyrical and sweet
I love both names individually, but don’t love the combo. Because of the repeated “ane” sound, I find myself saying [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Janey[/name_f]. But, I’m also believer that using an honor name trumps a “perfect” name, and it’s definitely a usable combo.
Thanks for the input.
Curious on other opinions!
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a bit too rhymey for me, sorry. I love that it’s both your mother’s and your middle name though! What about doing two middles, so it’d be [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] _____ [name_f]Jane[/name_f] which breaks up the “ane” sounds? Neither [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] or [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is that long so I don’t think a second middle would sound too cumbersome.
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] sounds like a children’s character to me - [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] to the rescue!
I don’t think its unusable, but maybe you can continue to keep an eye out for other names you both love as much.
I think the lyrical-ness is sweet. Unless you plan on formally calling her both, I don’t think it should even be a consideration of negativity.
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is definitely sing-songy, but I really like it!
S/o hates double names so that’s not an option.
I don’t like the double ane sound myself. But I’m not willing to change [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. We’ve been looking for 5 months and [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] is the only name we’ve agreed on. It’s a name I’ve always loved. So I’m trying to decide if the double ane spund is really a deal breaker.
Bonus points, [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a singer with pretty cool music. There’s also a very cute [name_m]Jimmy[/name_m] Buffet song called “[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] talks to statues”
I love, love the repeated -ane sound. Like others have said, it gives the name a musical quality. Catchy, memorable, sweet—great combo!
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is fine and I hope you use it as it is the name you love the most combined with an honour name - winner. Assuming you will not be calling her by both names, she will be [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] (last name) and we rarely say our first and middle names together on a day-to-day basis so it really does not matter that both names share the same sounds.
I think the flow is a bit too rhyme-y but since you really like the FN and the MN has important meaning, I think that would trump flow in my book. I say go for it!
