Opinions on Delaney?

[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] has been on my list for a while now but I’m wondering what y’all think of it. It’s not popular and it’s not unknown but I’ve never met or heard of someone called [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]. What type of girl/ woman comes to mind when you hear the name?

I absolutely love the name [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]! I think it’s very sweet, yet a bit sassy, which I generally love in a name. I also love the nickname [name_f]Lainey[/name_f].

I know one, who’s the same age as I am (21). She’s very sweet and friendly, which I’ve always imagined a [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] to be (if that makes sense?).

I think [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] is very sweet and will age well. Plus, as you said, it’s not common but still sounds familiar. I’ve never met a [name_u]Delaney[/name_u], but I believe [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_u]West[/name_u]'s daughter is named [name_u]Delaney[/name_u].

As for how I would picture a [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]…probably cute and blonde, a bit shy at first, but spunky and creative with a bright smile and a big imagination.

I love it so much that it’s my oldest daughters name! She’ll be 12 in [name_u]June[/name_u]…oddly we know of 4 other Delaneys. I really think it must be a regional thing though (NE Ohio) it was #190 in 2005 when she was born. I always get a lot of compliments on her name…more importantly SHE likes her name.

I like [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]! I know one person who named their daughter [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] 3 years ago. I think it reminds me of a kind person, strong willed.

I know one [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]. One thing she struggles with are people mispronouncing like [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] with a D.

What comes to mind for me is (because of the one I know) a brown haired girl with short cropped hair and green eyes. Into theatre, very woodland-oriented, loves drawing. Overall nice

I had a student named [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] once, and that was the first time I’d ever heard the name. Some previous posters hit the nail on the head when they described my little [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] – a little shy at first, but spunky and sweet once she comes out of her shell. Since that’s my only association with this name, that’s the description I think of when I hear it.

As a HUGE [name_m]Jimmy[/name_m] Buffett fan I love the name. Look up the song “[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] Talks To Statues”; that’s exactly what I think of when I hear the name. It’s wonderful
