I prefer [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Elinor[/name]. I don’t think the a on the end adds much to the name.
[name]Eleonora[/name] is the most common spelling here in Denmark and I think I prefer that over [name]Eleanora[/name].
I think it’s a bit too “frilly”. I like [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Lenore[/name], or [name]Lenora[/name] better.
I really like [name]Eleanora[/name]. I like how it sounds, and the various nicknames you can choose. [name]Ellen[/name], [name]Nora[/name], [name]Noor[/name], [name]Ellie[/name], [name]Ella[/name], Noorie… I don’t think its too frilly and its a good way to honor someone in your family if you have an [name]Ellen[/name], an [name]Eleanor[/name], an [name]Eleni[/name], or something like that. I like it. I personally think that [name]Eleanor[/name] is kind of old sounding, but maybe that’s because I’m a teen and I know older people named [name]Eleanor[/name].
I think it’s too fussy. I like stephaniebrooke’s suggestions.
I think [name]Eleanora[/name] is gorgeous! I think the “nora” ending is infinitely more feminine and pretty than the “nor” ending. There is just something harsh about a little girl’s name that ends in “nor.” (Not meaning to offend! [name]Just[/name] not my cup of tea!)
With “frilly” names being oh-so-popular right now ([name]Isabella[/name], [name]Arabella[/name], [name]Sophia[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], and the like,) I think [name]Eleanora[/name] is an elegant option that fits right in without being overly-done. Also, [name]Ella[/name] is so popular now, and with [name]Eleanor[/name] gaining even as we speak, [name]Eleanora[/name] seems like a very logical next step.
I really like it. I like the more simple [name]Eleanor[/name] too, but I like that [name]Eleanora[/name] offers more nickname options. I also like the variant spelling [name]Elenora[/name] which looks a little more streamlined.
It’s beautiful and on trend. I think [name]Nora[/name] would be an appropriate, intuitive nn for [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Elinor[/name], or [name]Eleanora[/name] and I must admit that I’m glad you are considering this over the alternative [name]Ellie[/name] or [name]Ella[/name].
My personal favorite variation of [name]Eleanor[/name] is [name]Elanor[/name]. Have you considered [name]Elnora[/name]? This is the name of the heroine of The Girl of the Limberlost.
I really like it! So much great nn potential (ellie, nora, lena, ella, … ) while being a lovely name in itself. My favorite spelling is [name]Elenora[/name].
I love the nn [name]Nora[/name]
