Thanks so much weighing in, I do appreciate it. And I agree, [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] might not be mainstream enough to sound totally real. I recently heard [name_u]Porter[/name_u] for a boy’s name and initially I felt that way ( occupational names seem to have that effect,) but it totally grew on me.

Hello! Thanks again to everyone who participated in this poll! Our son is about to be born and I am sending out one last SOS…everyone we know has different opinions on how to spell [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] (they seem to automatically spell it [name_m]Shepard[/name_m]). I would love some feedback on which spelling is more popular or preferred by people. We don’t want our son having to correct the spelling of his name all the time. I just assumed we would be spelling it [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] but we are clearly in the minority. Please help. [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] VS [name_m]Shepard[/name_m].
I would automatically spell it [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]. However, I have no idea what the correct “name” spelling is. Great name!
