[name_f]Layla[/name_f]: This name definitely has a lot of great sounds and flow, but if you’re concerned about trendiness and popularity, I don’t know if I’d recommend it. It sounds like many trendy names, and while it has history, that’s mostly in the [name_f]Leila[/name_f] form. It’s also within the top 30.
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]: I love this name. It’s a bona-fide classic, with a long history of use, and ever-so-elegant, yet tailored.
[name_f]Brynn[/name_f]: Certainly strong, but getting quite popular and is on the rise. Might I suggest [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]?
[name_f]Liv[/name_f]: Sweet, spunky mini-name, but I am worried about its trendiness and its association with the mega-popular [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]. I also think it might be a little too much of a nickname to be usable as a first.
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]: I quite like this name. It has such a great sound, and is indeed popular, but not as overused as many of its counterparts.
[name_f]Maya[/name_f]: Very, very popular, but I wouldn’t call it trendy. I love its sweet, flowing sound.
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]: This is such a great name. It has length and beauty, is evergreen, and not at all overused.
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]: This name is becoming popular and a bit more trendy, but I love its sound and nature connection.
[name_f]Jade[/name_f]: This lovely gemstone name is often overshadowed by [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], but it makes a fresh, interesting choice.
[name_f]Keira[/name_f]: This name is nice, with good sounds, and Irish flair. However, due to the public figure, it has become quite popular recently.
[name_u]Blair[/name_u]: An attractive, far less common alternative to [name_u]Clair[/name_u], although I have a negative personal association that could cloud my judgement of it.
[name_f]Lux[/name_f]: I like this quite a lot! It’s tailored and bright, and far too uncommon to be trendy.
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f]: A beautiful, almost lilting alternative to [name_f]Maya[/name_f] that I love.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]: Popular, for certain, and rising, but it’s definitely not trendy as its classic status and history of use preclude that.
[name_f]Belle[/name_f]: In the age of the elaborate [name_f]Belle[/name_f] names like [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], the tailored, simple, sweet [name_f]Belle[/name_f] is refreshing.
[name_u]Ariel[/name_u]: Modern, for sure, but I love its sound and I don’t think it’s too popular or trendy.
[name_u]River[/name_u]: Rare, serene nature name. This is stunning and very unique.
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]: As much as I love the sound and serenity, I do find this name quite trendy at the moment.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]: Certainly garnering a lot of attention on Nameberry, but it has long been a [name_m]French[/name_m] favorite and is not terribly popular in the United States.
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]: This name is attractive and stylish, but is on trajectory to crack the top then this year.
[name_u]Tatum[/name_u]: Another unisex name, sunny and charming. It’s only in the mid-400s for popularity, and has held steady, so I don’t think you have much to worry about.
[name_u]Ellis[/name_u]: [name_u]Unique[/name_u], distinctive [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] alternative.
[name_f]Aria[/name_f]: Certainly getting way more popular, so that could be a concern, but since it has a long history and origins in early [name_f]Italy[/name_f], I don’t think its necessarily “trendy” in the sense that it will seem dated in twenty years.
[name_f]Briar[/name_f]: This serene yet strong nature name is on the up trend, but it is still not as popular as many of its counterparts and is a striking alternative.
