Opinions on Glen

[name]Hi[/name],
What do you think of the name [name]Glen[/name]? I really like it because its strong and unusual, but still familiar. I can’t use it though because its my cousins name, he’s [name]Glen[/name] [name]Robert[/name].
What do you think?
Thanks,
[name]Ellie[/name] xx

I have a great uncle named [name]Glen[/name], to me it just seems dated

I agree, it sounds dated. And it makes me think of the creepy kid from Mad Men. Not my style.

My uncle’s name is [name]Glenn[/name]. I think it’s really neat for a name

I prefer [name]Glen[/name] spelled [name]Glenn[/name]. However, I love the flow of [name]Glen[/name] [name]Robert[/name]!

This is horrible, but my mind goes straight to [name]Glenn[/name] [name]Beck[/name]! What a horrifying association. I can’t be objective about the name when that’s the first thing that pops into my mind.

I also have a great-uncle [name]Glenn[/name]. I really like it! My uncle is a great guy and hilarious, so I have positive associations with it.

[name]Glen[/name] always felt kind of feminine to me. Not that that’s a terrible thing. Maybe because of [name]Glenn[/name] Close? Or just the gl- sound more generally?

[name]Glen[/name] sounds crisp, clean, sharp
It’s familiar, but clunky/crusty
It’s a bit naturey & green
All of this should add up to me loving it, but this name just has a creepy-guy vibe for me. Sorry. I guess it’s Mad Men & my one & only personal association to it was a mom’s basement type…

I really like the character of [name]Glenn[/name] Rhee on The Walking Dead so I have positive associations of this name.

I love [name]Glen[/name]. I see it as a masculine and handsome name. Growing up, I knew a number of guys named [name]Glen[/name], and it was considered a cool name. I especially love the way the hard G sound blends into the rest of the name. [name]Glen[/name] was my father-in-law’s middle name, and we passed it on to my oldest son as his middle name. (The first name of actress [name]Glenn[/name] Close is not the norm. Her name is very unusual for a female, and her unique case does not turn the name feminine, imo.)
