Opinions on Glorianna

Well, I was out with my daughter, son-in-law and the most perfect grandson in the universe, [name]Levi[/name] [name]Michael[/name], and the conversation turned to baby names. They have several friends pregnant or with new babies so the topic pops up even though they are not planning on another all that soon.

I mentioned a post I had seen about [name]Gloria[/name] or Glorianna or another Glo-name I can’t remember, and my daughter said, “I like Glorianna but he won’t.” And sure enough, he said, “No, I think its really pretty!”

So, they want to know what you all think of Glorianna and what kind of middle name you could use with it. Last name is 2 syllables and rhymes with Shoe!

Thanks in advance…

(edited this because I said 12 syllables instead of 2!)

To be honest, I think it’s ornate and a little contrived. [name]Gloria[/name] itself is a lovely name (which back in the day was seen as immodest), and at three syllables I thinkk it would set off your daughter’s surname very nicely. But Glorianna adds that extra syllable and-- esp in [name]New[/name] [name]Jersey[/name]-- you worry that it would rhyme with [name]Anna[/name], rather than fauna, which would be really nasal and twangy.

Glorianna is unnecessarily fussy to me. Another 4 syllable little girl’s name that is almost impossible to wear on a daily basis. [name]Gloria[/name] is nicer and simpler-- less try-hard.

I really don’t like it. I prefer [name]Gloria[/name] or [name]Georgiana[/name].

For it looks like [name]Gloria[/name] and [name]Anna[/name] smoothed together.

I agree… Too much name… Plus it sounds contrived, sorry I don’t like it

I know someone who used Glorianna as a middle name. I wouldn’t use it, just too over the top. [name]Anna[/name] [name]Gloria[/name] would be a pretty choice.

Not my style.

I knew a Glorianna. Whenever her name came up with someone who didn’t know her, they would always say - without fail - “What a beautiful name!” It certainly worked for her. (And [name]Glory[/name] is an awesome nickname.)

I agree that it looks too contrived. I prefer [name]Gloria[/name] and I also like the suggestion of [name]Anna[/name] [name]Gloria[/name].

I actually know a Glorianna. (sister to Aliciana) It’s okay. I personally prefer [name]Glory[/name] by itself, but it’s not terrible.

Glorianna is pretty, I prefer [name]Gloria[/name] though.

Glorianna just makes me think of the country music band, Gloriana… [name]Gloria[/name] is better

love Glorianna! since it’s so long a shorter middle name would probaly work best with it,
Gloriana [name]Grace[/name]
Gloriana [name]Ruth[/name]
Gloriana [name]Elaine[/name]
Gloriana [name]Brooke[/name]
Gloriana [name]Iris[/name]

It’s not my style, but I wouldn’t say it was a bad name. And I do think [name]Glory[/name] would be a cute nn

I love it. I have played with it a lot in the past. I really love the nickname [name]Glory[/name]. My only real problem with the name, and why I haven’t brought it to the front burner of my list, is I am a [name]Christian[/name]. I wouldn’t want my child to get any confusing messages. I don’t know if that is a silly thing, or if it really worth being concerned about.

Wow, Glorianna was my Mother’s step-mother’s name! You don’t hear it very often at all. Her middle name was [name]Josephine[/name]. I know that my relatives called her [name]Glory[/name]. I think it is a very beautiful name.

Some mn’s that sound nice

Glorianna [name]Elizabeth[/name]
Glorianna [name]Collette[/name]
Glorianna [name]Frances[/name]
Glorianna [name]Nicole[/name]
Glorianna [name]Michelle[/name]

Thanks for the input everyone… I have been passing it on to “the kids” and they like [name]Glory[/name] as a nickname. So [name]Gloria[/name] and Glorianna are on possible list… after my mom, [name]Gloria[/name] [name]Gilda[/name].
