Opinions on Haydée

Hit me. What do you think?

Honestly, the spelling and pronunciation is a bit awkward to me.

It’s sort of cool, but I prefer [name_f]Heidi[/name_f]. The pronunciation makes me think of Haiti sort of.

This made me so happy to see! Haydée is one of my favorite names!

ETA: I would pronounce Haidee “hay-dee,” but Haydée more like “eye-deh.”

Makes me think of Haiti, sorry.

I’m pretty neutral towards it. It reminds me of [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] (which I like) and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] (which I don’t really like.) It also sounds like Haiti, which is probably what takes it down from about 6-7/10 to 4-5/10.

I think I know how to pronounce it because I’ve run into it before (Haiti with a D instead of a T), but if I’m
honest the accent is throwing me off.

It’s an okay name. I’ve only known one who is somewhere in her 20s so might be fresh on a baby

I think it may be a bit confusing… Is it pronounced “eye-day”? Because I think most people would be inclined to pronounce it “hay-dee” or “hay-day” just by looking at it, so that could be an issue worth considering.

I quite like Haydee, pronouncing it (Hay-[name_f]Dee[/name_f]). I have a second-cousin who is named this, and I always thought her name was cool & different. (She’s in her late 30’s)

I prefer it over the “[name_f]Heidi[/name_f]” pronunciation

I know it’s an older name, from an opera I think? But I think it has a really modern, almost made-up feel. I think that would be 99% of people’s reaction, so I suppose you’d have to decide whether you’d be bothered by that. It does have a really pretty sound.

The accent makes it look like it’s pronounced Heyday, which I would just spell like the actual word.

I’m sorry, I don’t think this name is all that usable. As others have pointed out, the spelling could be confusing. I also don’t much care for the sound of this name.

I think it’s nice in Spanish/French but would probably be mispronounced by [name_f]English[/name_f] speakers all the time.

How is it pronounced?

I also thought it was cute pronounced Hay-dee, but I liked the accent since it was pretty and didn’t think it had any affect on the name

The pronunciation is a bit cumbersome.

I think the pronunciation would get confusing depending on where you live.

I’ve loved this name since reading the count of monte Cristo, however the pronunciation has always been an issue, my personal favorite is ‘hay-dee’ but then you have the problem of it being misheard as the country Haiti or the name [name_f]Katie[/name_f]…the ‘eye-day’ prn. I think is more correct but to me it sounds like a weird prn. Of [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] which isn’t really my style then [name_m]Ive[/name_m] also heard people say ‘hey-day’ which has its own obvious issues.
However if the pronunciation problem doesn’t bother you Id love to meet someone named [name_f]Haidee[/name_f]

It‘s reminds me of the slavic word hajde (come on), so i think it’s not usabel. At least not for me.
