Opinions on Jacoby/Jackaby

I’m quite partial to the Jackaby spelling, as [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m] looks more like it’s pronounced Ja-coby and not [name_m]Jack[/name_m]-abee.

[name_m]Jacoby[/name_m]/Jackaby is a brand new one for me, but I get the last-name-first trend it fits. Is it a family name?

I can see how [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m] could be mispronounced, though I prefer it because of the more traditional spelling.

[name_m]Jacoby[/name_m] is pronounced juh-KOH-bee; therefore Jackaby and [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m] are not the same names. If you want your baby’s name to be pronounced jack-uh-bee then I suppose you’d use Jackaby, because that’s not a correct pronunciation for [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m]. Jackaby just sounds like a mispronunciation of [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m] not a name in itself, [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

[name_m]Jacoby[/name_m] is pronounced Juh-coby. And I much prefer it to Jackaby, which looks made up.
