What do you guys this of the name [name]Katja[/name] (pronounced cah-tee-ya)? I really love this spelling too, and dislike the spellings [name]Katya[/name] and [name]Katia[/name]. Opinions?
I love [name]Katia[/name] but only this spelling. To me it is the only one that warrants the cah-tee-ya pronunciation. I would say both [name]Katja[/name] and [name]Katya[/name] as caht-ya. I am not sure about your location but if I saw the [name]Katja[/name] spelling in the US I would assume the parents were going for a yooneek spelling.
I like the name, but I prefer [name]Katja[/name] and [name]Katya[/name] pronounced [CAHT-ya]. [name]Katia[/name] is the only spelling that makes sense for [cah-tee-ya] for me. Either way it’s lovely I can’t really imagine [name]Katya[/name] or [name]Katja[/name] on anyone non-European, but [name]Katia[/name] works for all imo.
I prefer [name]Katia[/name].
Prefer [name]Katya[/name] spelling and love nn [name]Kitty[/name]
Prefer two-syllable pronunciation. I don’t mind [name]Katja[/name] but its very much kaht-ya to me.
I also say Kaht-ya, I’m saying it over and over now to see if there’s an “ee” sound and there kind of is, but its very very short, still two syllables and not totally discernible, just connector if that makes any sense. I think it’s a beautiful name, if youre in an english speaking country, be prepared for some [name]Kat[/name]-ja, but I think its easily correctable.
If you want [name]Kat[/name]-ee-a…maybe better to spell it [name]Katia[/name]. I dislike the [name]Katya[/name] spelling too.
The only [name]Katja[/name] I’ve ever known has said it as Kaht-ee-uh and I think she originated from [name]Russia[/name]. I think [name]Katia[/name] would look better actually.
I love the name [name]Katia[/name] but I don´t like the spelling [name]Katja[/name].
[name]Katia[/name] is a beautiful name…
I think [name]Katia[/name] is more likely to get you the pronunciation you want. I like [name]Katja[/name], but I say Kaht–ya.
I love [name]Katja[/name], and I really prefer it spelled either [name]Katja[/name] or [name]Katya[/name]. [name]Katia[/name] makes me want to pronounce it more like [name]Katie[/name].
I like it, all variants of it. But [name]Katja[/name] is the most unique.
