[name]Lyndsay[/name] -

[name]Lincoln[/name] makes me think of two things - [name]Lincoln[/name] Logs and, well, [name]Abe[/name]!

That being said, how is [name]Lincoln[/name] any different than [name]Hudson[/name], [name]Landon[/name], [name]Griffin[/name], [name]Franklin[/name], or [name]Reagan[/name]? It isn’t! [name]Lincoln[/name] has strength and substance - especially with that CK sound - but an added splash of spunk and fun! Who could pass up a guy named [name]Link[/name], huh? I mean, [name]Tracy[/name] Turnblad in Hairspray certainly couldn’t!

When I envision [name]Lincoln[/name], I see a buttoned-up, confident, friendly guy. He’s no goody-two-shoes, though. No, [name]Lincoln[/name] has a bit of a wild side - he doesn’t always follow the rules, and he is a fearless leader. He is strong and convincing, but that doesn’t mean he is a bad boy. [name]Lincoln[/name] is smart, for sure, and talented - maybe a musician - but he has a strong personality. [name]Link[/name] is cool and suave, handsome and witty, and he knows it…

Good name, even better nickname, [name]Lyndsay[/name]!

[name]Lemon[/name]

[name]Edit[/name] - I forgot to answer the second part of your question! To me, [name]Dashiell[/name] has a vintage quirkiness that isn’t quite captured in [name]Lincoln[/name]. [name]Lincoln[/name] is more surname-y (obviously!) and thus makes [name]Dashiell[/name] seem more modern and fresh, too - not that it isn’t already (!), just more so, if you get what I’m saying. [name]Dash[/name] and [name]Link[/name], however, are perfect together! Can’t actually think of a better nickname pairing! [name]Both[/name] are energetic and fun, yet strong and handsome, just like their full names!

I went to a deli today to buy a sandwich. There was a young woman pushing a stroller. I asked her if I could see her baby. She said sure. The baby was such a cute boy, and he was kind of burly. Looked like a lot of fun. His mother told me that his name is…[name]Lincoln[/name]!

Hey (and high-fivies to [name]Baby[/name] D)! I think that [name]Lincoln[/name] is a very handsome name, and I really love [name]Dash[/name] and [name]Link[/name] together. I can see [name]Lincoln[/name] on a baby, a young boy, a teenager, an adult…all the way up to nursing home status.

I know that C. loves [name]Lincoln[/name], and even though I think I can slightly better see your other names, like [name]August[/name] and [name]Frederick[/name] ([name]Red[/name]), with [name]Dashiell[/name], the [name]Link[/name] nickname with [name]Dash[/name] totally wins me over.

Presidential names like [name]Harrison[/name], [name]Truman[/name], [name]Wilson[/name], [name]Pierce[/name], etc., have always sounded very distinguished to me, and [name]Lincoln[/name] is no different.

Have a good night!

Thanks for the replies ladies! [name]Lemon[/name], I love your description, as always!

I’ve spent a lot of time hating on [name]Lincoln[/name]… but it is STILL [name]Chris[/name]’ favorite. And since my fave’s change so frequently I think it’s only fair to agree to his favorite of several years… (though I do always go back to [name]Frederick[/name], [name]August[/name]/[name]Angus[/name], [name]Dodge[/name] and [name]Wesley[/name]). I don’t think [name]Lincoln[/name] rules out my favorites for future children though, so I can compromise. Plus I [name]DO[/name] actually love [name]Link[/name]. Especially because of Hairspray! I think [name]Dash[/name] and [name]Link[/name] are basically perfect for each other, especially since they’d both have names their dad has loved forever.

So the current favorite is [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]William[/name] Warfield… what do you think?

[name]Red[/name] has been pushed to son #3… maybe [name]Frederick[/name] [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Cloud[/name]? That’s still up in the air, though. In addition to being another video game/ movie name (like both [name]Dash[/name] and [name]Link[/name]), I just recently discovered that [name]Cloud[/name] is a very old and important family name. [name]Do[/name] you think a boy would hate to have [name]Cloud[/name] in his name? [name]Even[/name] tucked away as a second middle?

[name]Lincoln[/name] is perfect! Very handsome and very today. The nn of [name]Linc[/name] is cute and I love the nn of [name]Lin[/name] too.

[name]Abe[/name] doesn’t get a look in with me and the logs thing is a mystery to me.

[name]Lincoln[/name] is a stylish name in the genre of [name]Reid[/name], [name]Elliott[/name], [name]Nash[/name], [name]Hunter[/name], [name]Hudson[/name], [name]Mason[/name], even [name]Caden[/name] and [name]Alexander[/name] imo.

I don’t like [name]Cloud[/name] I would rule that one out.

[name]Abraham[/name] [name]Lincoln[/name] nn [name]Abe[/name].
[name]Rollo[/name], you don’t have [name]Lincoln[/name] Logs in Australia? They are a set of wooden logs in all different sizes. They interlock. I used to love to play with them. there are plastic roofs and chimneys.

I love the name [name]Lincoln[/name] with the nn [name]Link[/name]. I think it works perfectly with your sons name. [name]Dash[/name] and [name]Link[/name] are awesome together. One thing I do think about when I hear [name]Link[/name] (not sure if it will matter) is The [name]Legend[/name] Of [name]Zelda[/name] character. Honestly though, it makes me love the name more. So besides the fact I love [name]Lincoln[/name] for it’s history and it’s handsome sound I like the modern video game connection. I think it gives it an extra boost of coolness.

[name]Abraham[/name] [name]Lincoln[/name] nn [name]Abe[/name].

[name]Hi[/name] [name]Susan[/name]

If they have them I have never heard of them, they sound like wooden Lego to me.

PS I am au fait with the very distinguished, iconic and famous [name]Abraham[/name] [name]Lincoln[/name] for whom I have tremendous admiration due to his [name]Christian[/name] values but when I think of [name]Lincoln[/name] I don’t automatically think of [name]Abraham[/name] [name]Lincoln[/name]. The name [name]Lincoln[/name] is a great name, one I would use in a heartbeat.

Lol [name]Lisa[/name], [name]Link[/name] is all [name]Legend[/name] of [name]Zelda[/name] to me, too. That’s why my husband loves it so much. He’ll insist on getting him any [name]Link[/name] of [name]Zelda[/name] memorabilia he can find. He also loves the name [name]Zelda[/name]. He is a gamer, through and through!

[name]Abraham[/name] [name]Lincoln[/name] nn [name]Abe[/name].

Yes, [name]Lincoln[/name] Logs are a bit like Lego, but [name]Lincoln[/name] Logs were around long before Lego. When I was young, I don’t remember having Legos. Oh, but my husband says that he had Legos. But I asked him which toy came first, and he says [name]Lincoln[/name] Logs date back to the 1940’s. He is a master of trivia, so he’s probably right.
Here in the U.S., [name]Lincoln[/name] is synonymous with [name]Abe[/name] [name]Lincoln[/name] of [name]Abraham[/name] [name]Lincoln[/name]. No problem having one’s name associated with Old [name]Abe[/name]. He’s great!

Oh [name]Rollo[/name], [name]Lincoln[/name] Logs are so fun! They aren’t really like Legos, though you do build with them:

It makes sense you wouldn’t think automatically of [name]Abraham[/name] [name]Lincoln[/name] in Australia, it should be every American’s first association, though. [name]Abraham[/name] [name]Lincoln[/name] was a great man, and I feel like I should learn everything about him if I indeed use the name.

Thanks [name]Susan[/name] and [name]Lyndsay[/name] makes me feel like going out to buy the logs for the grandchildren, on ebay of course.

Oh you should! They are extremely fun!

My nephew loves them! When he was younger he would grab the bucket and say “build a house, build a house…” over and over again until you did and then he would just knock it down :). BOYS!!

AND!! I love [name]Lincoln[/name]!! Great with [name]Dash[/name]!

I’m married to gamer as well. The arcade cabinet in the living room is proof. We actually like the name Auron from FF as a middle name. One day I saw a girl wearing a jacket with the triforce symbol on the back, I wanted it soooo bad LOL.

[name]Lyndsay[/name]!

I love [name]Lincoln[/name] [name]William[/name] Warfield, but at the same time, I really liked the alliteration in the front, like [name]Dashiell[/name] [name]David[/name] [name]Rowe[/name]…

Anyway, all of your names are so vintage-cool, and I thought of another you might like:

[name]PHILIP[/name] “[name]PIP[/name]”

In Dickens’ Great Expectations, the main character is [name]Pip[/name], a nickname for [name]Philip[/name], and I just thought it was such a cool, unexpected, and fresh nickname - perhaps up your alley? I love [name]Dash[/name] and [name]Pip[/name] together - they are just fun to say! [name]Even[/name] [name]Dash[/name], [name]Pip[/name], and [name]Link[/name] are a bundle of fun…

I forgot what your wonderful family names are or I’d make up a combination now…

[name]Lemon[/name]

I like it!
[name]Dash[/name] and [name]Link[/name] are cute together.
I think [name]Lincoln[/name] is a better name for a man than a boy, but that’s good because the name will grow with him. [name]Link[/name] is a really cute nn too! It makes me think of the character “[name]Link[/name]” from Prison Break

[name]Lemon[/name], I love [name]Phillip[/name] nn [name]Pip[/name]! I also love the nickname [name]Flip[/name]! My husband doesn’t like [name]Phillip[/name] at all though, unfortunately! I am on a search for boys names with fun/unexpected/unusual nicknames… I’m having a harder time than I thought!

Oh, and I like the alliteration up front, too, but that’s a very difficult pattern! I want to have a few kids and since I want to honor family with their names (as opposed to just picking names I like) it’s pretty hard to come up with combos I love (and not just really like) that start with the same letter, ya know? Especially after reading that blog yesterday, I can’t come up with 10 names I love enough that follow that pattern!

[name]Justys[/name], I’m glad you like [name]Link[/name]! And thanks for mentioning that there is a [name]Link[/name] on Prison Break, I will have to watch and see him!
