Opinions on my list

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everybody,
I have a list I have come up with of fun names that I would consider if we had another boy. My one year old is named [name_m]Kellen[/name_m]. For a second child I would want to avoid a -en,-an,-on ending and a K first sound. I also have to avoid a -er ending because of our surname. Here are my favorites (some of which my husband likes and some he is iffy about.) Maybe you can give me some input to convince him? Any other suggestions you have are welcome! Have a lovely day Berries!

[name_m]Boaz[/name_m]
[name_m]Boyd[/name_m]
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m]
[name_m]Forest[/name_m]
[name_m]Garrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Gilead[/name_m]
[name_m]Hershel[/name_m]
[name_u]Jericho[/name_u]
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m]
[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]
[name_u]Sidney[/name_u]
[name_m]Simeon[/name_m]
[name_m]Solomon[/name_m]
[name_u]Wallace[/name_u]
[name_u]Winslow[/name_u]

Many unique choices I’ve never seen before!

I love “[name_m]BOAZ[/name_m]” for it’s biblical origin and for its originality.
[name_m]Gilead[/name_m] is sweet, and reminds me of “[name_u]Gale[/name_u]”
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m] has a noble feel to it and reminds me of “[name_m]Edmond[/name_m]”
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] is wonderful and stoic! Have you thought of [name_u]Micah[/name_u]?
[name_u]Wallace[/name_u] and [name_u]Winslow[/name_u]- very cool.
What about: [name_m]Walter[/name_m], Willouby, [name_m]William[/name_m]?

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] these are helpful!

I love [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] - and who wouldn’t like to have an obvious nn of [name_u]Win[/name_u] or Wins?!

[name_m]Boaz[/name_m], [name_m]Simeon[/name_m], [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], and [name_m]Gilead[/name_m] are excellent, meaningful options. It can be difficult to find Biblical names that aren’t either overused or really bizarre to modern ears.

[name_m]Forest[/name_m] and [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] give me a peaceful feeling. Plus, nn [name_m]Shep[/name_m] is beyond adorable. [name_m]Forest[/name_m] feels very relevant in this age of environmentalism.

[name_m]Garrison[/name_m] is a little too military installation for my taste, and I can’t hear [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] without adding Tutu. [name_u]Wallace[/name_u] will be forever linked in my mind with [name_m]George[/name_m], and when I hear [name_m]Boyd[/name_m], I picture an egg or a guy with bald head shaped like an egg. That doesn’t mean they aren’t nice names; the associations are just too strong for me to look past.

Thank you for the input! @Kayray, Thanks so much. I really want a “off the beaten path” name but I don’t want it to be too weird.
I love [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] too, but that is one I can’t get my husband to love. It was my #1 pick for [name_m]Kellen[/name_m] but I couldn’t convince him. I haven’t given up hope yet though. [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] is new to my idea list. It does feel somewhat noble, doesn’t it… I really like the nn [name_m]Dez[/name_m] too.

@freya. I love the nn [name_u]Win[/name_u] and Wins! [name_m]Kellen[/name_m] doesn’t go by a nn usually, but sometimes K or BK ([name_u]Baby[/name_u] [name_m]Kellen[/name_m]). I can’t decided if I should avoid a name with a built in nn for a future child or not. I am leaning towards not. I really love my biblical names too. [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] and [name_m]Forest[/name_m] are my favorites today (it’ll probably change tomorrow though. ufdah. Thanks so much for your ideas on the rest of the names. I hadn’t even thought of Tutu. Ha!

Thanks so much for your help!

My favorites with [name_m]Kellen[/name_m] are; [name_m]Boyd[/name_m], [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m], [name_m]Desmund[/name_m], and [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m].

You have a great varied list, with some wonderfully unusual choices. My favourites are –

[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] – So handsome, with the cute nn [name_u]Dash[/name_u].
[name_m]Forest[/name_m] – as long as [name_m]Forest[/name_m] Gump doesn’t put you off. I think it sounds lovely beside [name_m]Kellen[/name_m].
[name_u]Winslow[/name_u] – great artistic name. I think of [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] [name_m]Homer[/name_m], which is a wonderful namesake.

[name_u]Jericho[/name_u]
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m]
[name_u]Winslow[/name_u]
[name_f]Love[/name_f] all the of the above.
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m], [name_m]Forest[/name_m], or [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] I would consider for middle names.
The others aren’t my taste.
I prefer [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] on a girl and is one of my fave girls names right now.

With [name_m]Kellen[/name_m], I think these names on your list would be fine. You have some names that end in “n” like [name_m]Kellen[/name_m] so I would eliminate those from contention. My faves are bolded.

[name_m]Boyd[/name_m]
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m]
[name_m]Forest[/name_m]
[name_u]Jericho[/name_u]
[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]
[name_u]Sidney[/name_u]
[name_u]Winslow[/name_u]

@lovemysweetie - Thank you for your input. [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] and [name_m]Desmund[/name_m] are working their way towards the top of my list
@imogeneve - “wonderfully unusual choices” What a complement  I really love the nn [name_u]Dash[/name_u] too! I asked my husband about [name_u]Winslow[/name_u], he said we can’t use it. I guess [name_m]Kellen[/name_m] [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] was a famous NFL football player. Who knew? ha
@[name_u]Mischa[/name_u] - I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] your list for me. My favorites (with the ones that really stand out starred) are:
[name_m]Heath[/name_m]
