[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
Here are my favorite to least favorite rankings:
Girls-
Maeve-I love this name. It feels light & airy, but also sleek & smart. Sweet for a little girl & polished for a grown woman.
Tessa-This is really nice. It’s feminine but kind of sporty. It’s simple & well known, but not at all over done. I really love the easy going [name_f]Tess[/name_f] too. I like just [name_f]Tess[/name_f] or [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Tess[/name_f].
Audrey-Super sweet & lovable & has a great vintage glamour vibe.
Maisie-I really love this for a nn (for [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], but also [name_f]Maureen[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] or Mary.) It feels a bit cutesy on its own, but it’s still adorable & charming none the less.
Imogen-I like that it’s fairly interesting & sophisticated but gentle at the same time. I think I don’t love the way it looks as much as I want to, but it’s a lovely choice. Lots of cute nns too; [name_f]Idgie[/name_f], [name_f]Imee[/name_f], [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] & [name_f]Ginny[/name_f].
Ada-I think that this is perfectly nice. A bit not that exciting; just kind of seen on these boards too much is probably why I say that. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though [name_f]Ava[/name_f] is way more popular, I prefer the glamour vibe of it to [name_f]Ada[/name_f].
Viola-I feel like pronunciation is a bit tricky here, & I just don’t care for the sound much myself. But I like that it’s vintage & unique anyway.
Blair-This doesn’t do much for me. It sounds like a snobby girl; is there a movie character named [name_u]Blair[/name_u]? Not sure why I think that.
Astrid-I like this in theory. It’s unique & feminine but strong. I just don’t like the sound.
Britta-Meh, not into this one. It seems too modern for my tastes, & also kind of incomplete looking.
Boys-
Charlie-Oh, [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. It’s impossible to say without a smile. So charming & friendly & classic. I actually like just [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] more than [name_u]Charles[/name_u] nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] too.
Luca-Beautiful & romantic, but still feels gentle & kind.
Quinn-Oh boy, [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] for a boy! I am so tired of seeing this one girl lists. [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is a handsome Irish male name. It’s sporty & quirky & simple & sweet. I’d be a little timid to use it due to the popularity of [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] on girls though.
Alfred-I like the idea of [name_m]Alfred[/name_m] more than I like the sound. It’s sort of stuffy, but it’s different & classic & has adorable nns of [name_u]Alfie[/name_u], [name_m]Fred[/name_m] & [name_u]Freddie[/name_u].
Finnick-I love love love [name_u]Finn[/name_u]. And I like just [name_u]Finn[/name_u] or [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] best. [name_m]Finnick[/name_m] sounds too much like finicky to me, but it’s not awful.
Knox-I think that this is fun. It reminds me of Dead Poets Society. Which is sort of tragic, but it gives me a sassy prep school vibe. I just don’t like saying it out as much.
Evan-I’m totally in love with the name [name_m]Ewan[/name_m], so I’m not sure why I don’t like this as much. I think it just got too trendy in the early 2000s. It’s a nice name though.
Hugo-Kind of quirky, but just can’t get into it. Not sure why.
Roscoe-I think that it sounds mysterious & interesting, but maybe too heavy? Not my style, but an interesting choice.
Bellamy-I can’t get on board w/this one. It’s too feminine for a boy & too masculine for a girl.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
