Opinions on name

I’d love to use the name ‘[name_f]Faith[/name_f]’ for a girl one day because I think the meaning is beautiful and it looks and sounds lovely too.
My only concern is that people might think she’s heavily religious or something even though you can have faith in anything, it doesn’t have to be religious.

Opinions? Would you use it?

I adore the name [name_f]Faith[/name_f], it’s not in my sig but it’s always been a name I’d love to use. While I can see the religious aspect, it doesn’t strike me as a purely religious name either. Take [name_f]Faith[/name_f] [name_m]Hill[/name_m] for example, she wears the name well and ‘religious’ isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when people talk about her! I think it’s wearable for any little girl or grown woman, no matter their background. I like the way you put it too; you can have faith in anything, and if people ask that’s what you can say!

It’s okay but something like [name_f]Honor[/name_f] or [name_f]Joy[/name_f] is better [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. If you didn’t want to use something with obviously meaning you could use Emuna, which means faith and would have some good nicknames too!

Not my style so I wouldn’t use it. I’ve known several Faiths and only one was really religious at all to my knowledge, I don’t think it’s a big deal.

Not overly religious at all!!

[name_f]Faith[/name_f] is perfectly fine. I grew up with a [name_f]Faith[/name_f] and she wasn’t religious. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a normal name in my eyes.

Nms though, but if you like it, go for it.

I think [name_f]Faith[/name_f] sounds really pretty! I never considered it as a religious name, it aways just seemed like a normal name ([name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Paige[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] etc.)

I love it!

It’s a really nice name - to me it doesn’t come off as overly religious.

[name_f]Faith[/name_f] is lovely! I’ve met a couple of Faiths, some who were religious, others who were not so I think you could use it.

I would never assume that the parents of a girl named [name_f]Faith[/name_f] would have to be religious. To me, [name_f]Faith[/name_f] is a mainstream and fairly popular name. It’s no different from a non-religious person using a name like [name_f]Christina[/name_f] for example.

This is an interesting question actually. I’ve always liked the name [name_f]Faith[/name_f] but I also always assumed it had religious connotations, which is why I’ve never wanted to use it. I would be genuinely surprised to meet a [name_f]Faith[/name_f] that was raised in an atheist household, for example. (I think that’s why [name_f]Faith[/name_f] from [name_f]Buffy[/name_f] had the name, because it was supposed to be ironic.)

But I think times are changing and a nonreligious person could definitely use/wear the name! [name_m]Just[/name_m] don’t be surprised if people assume sometimes that it’s a reference to Christianity or something.

I’ve never known a [name_f]Faith[/name_f] who was particularly religious, so I don’t associate the two at all.
