Opinions on names for our second baby

Hello berries,

We are expecting our second baby next year, and though we won’t know the sex of the baby for a while, the name debate has begun. We have a daughter named [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] so I’d like the names to go together.

Boys:

Our top boy name has been [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], but I’m now worried it’s getting too trendy, so opinions would be helpful on that.
Other names we like: [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] (as a middle name to honor family), [name_m]Alastair[/name_m], [name_u]Neil[/name_u] (middle name to honor family), [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m], [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Edward[/name_m], husband does not.

Last name is similar to [name_m]Wilson[/name_m].

Thanks for your help!

I love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], though I do get what you mean about it being somewhat trendy. It’s hardly [name_m]Liam[/name_m] or [name_u]Aidan[/name_u], but obviously there’s no way of knowing how popular it will eventually get, and it is moving up pretty fast. I still think it’s a good choice though.

Out of the other names on your list, my favorites are [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], and [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] is probably my favorite out of those three. I think it goes really well with [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], and I like that it’s not super popular but still very well-known. [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_u]Neil[/name_u] sound very pleasing to me, though I know some people don’t like alliteration in names.

Good luck!

I love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. It’s one of my favorites and i share your concerns that it’s becoming too trendy (along with [name_u]Theo[/name_u]). Unfortunately, I seeing continuing to rise but I don’t think it will become too 10 popular. It’s a great choice regardless in my opinion, because it’s a solid classic name with a strong history despite that it’s become trendy. With [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], my other favorites would be [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] & [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] (love the nn [name_u]Nico[/name_u]). I think all three are a great fit with [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]!

Thanks for your replies!

[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is certainly gaining ground, but I wouldn’t be too worried about it being popular. However, I loooove the name [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] and think it goes quite well with [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. Not nearly as popular, either.
