Opinions on names...Please help!

We found out a few weeks ago that we’re having a boy! We have a decent sized list, but I’m not sure which one is the one. He may have two middle names with [name]Thomas[/name] as either the first or second middle. Last name begins with an L, so anything too alliterative is out. Also, last name ends in RD, so names like [name]Ford[/name] are a no-go. Please give your honest, but tactful opinion about these names. Any suggestions for first/middle or a combination of the two would be greatly appreciated too! Thanks!

That’s a really good list. Very similar to what I would have…are you sure you’re not me?! Lol!
I love [name]Jasper[/name],Theodore and [name]Edward[/name]! [name]Silas[/name] is interesting,I think it’s all but unheard of where I live, I like it! I think those would be my top 4 from your list.

P.s just dawned on me, Ted/Teddy is also used as a nickname for Edward in the UK. Middle name wise I think the 4 I favour would go well with almost all of the other names on your list.

[name]George[/name] - I can’t see this as a first name on a little boy at all.
[name]Elias[/name] - I think this is adorable. [name]Elias[/name] [name]George[/name] could be cute or [name]Elias[/name] [name]Graham[/name].
[name]Theodore[/name] - I love [name]Theo[/name]. [name]Theodore[/name] [name]James[/name] would be nice.
[name]Ephraim[/name] - This is fine, but I think you have better names on your list.
[name]Edmund[/name] - [name]Edmund[/name] is much better than [name]Edward[/name], and no terrible Twilight associations.
[name]Jasper[/name] - This is a cute name. It’s not my favorite though.
[name]Oscar[/name] - I love it. [name]Oscar[/name] [name]Warren[/name] is one of my favorite combinations.

[name]Ephraim[/name] - my absolute favorite. Sadly, my DH hates it with a passion, so it’s out.
[name]Edmund[/name]/[name]Edward[/name] (nn [name]Ned[/name]) - Ok, I guess. [name]Edmund[/name] sounds too properly British, and [name]Edward[/name] has never been a favorite. Also, Twilight, although it’s a nice change from [name]Jacob[/name].
[name]Jasper[/name] - Vintage. Sadly, waaay to popular right now because of Twilight
[name]Oscar[/name] - the green puppet in the trash can on [name]Sesame[/name] [name]Street[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t like the way this one sounds.
[name]Warren[/name] - Like it. Strong, dignified, and will grow well as the kid ages.

[name]Graham[/name] - wimpy. Also, crackers.

[name]Felix[/name] - I read a book once where the villain was named [name]Felix[/name]. That’s all I’ve ever associated the name with, and it’s not a good association.

Congratulations! I really like a lot of the names on your list.

[name]George[/name] - I have a love-hate relationship with [name]George[/name]! I like the way it looks but it just sounds so clunky and it’s a bit too geeky and old-fashioned for me to want to call my son [name]George[/name]. I do like it in the last spot, though–either as a last MN or as a surname (obviously not applicable to you, haha–I also think in terms of last names since I am a writer).
[name]Elias[/name] - love! As I’m sure you can see in my signature. I absolutely love this form of [name]Elijah[/name]. The only part I don’t like is that he’ll probably be stuck with [name]Eli[/name], which I’m not as fond of. I prefer it in the MN spot for that reason. I think [name]Elias[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] or [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Elias[/name] would be a nice MN combo.
[name]Theodore[/name] (nn either [name]Theo[/name] or [name]Teddy[/name]) - [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Theodore[/name]! I’m not as won over by its nns, though–[name]Theo[/name]‘s never really appealed to me, and while I like [name]Teddy[/name], I’m just not wowed by it. Since you like both, I don’t think it’d be a problem, though. I think something like [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Elias[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] would be handsome!
[name]Ephraim[/name] - love a lot! For a short while [name]Daniel[/name] [name]Ephraim[/name] [name]Jude[/name] was on my top 10. I really like it. I’m not sure I would be gutsy enough to put it up front, though.
[name]Edmund[/name]/[name]Edward[/name] (nn [name]Ned[/name]) - I slightly prefer [name]Edward[/name] of the two but I like the [name]Narnia[/name] association of [name]Edmund[/name]! I do like [name]Ned[/name] as a nn. I think [name]Teddy[/name] is also cute…
[name]Jasper[/name] - like a lot! It’s grown on me significantly in the past several weeks/months. I think it’s quite handsome.
[name]Oscar[/name] - lovelovelove! I’m starting to think I’d prefer it as a MN (it’s a MN consideration for me for two combos at the moment), although I would absolutely love meeting a little [name]Oscar[/name] in real life! I think it’s quite perfect, and it’s one of the few names I can remember loving most of my life.
[name]Warren[/name] - a bit too old-manish for me, but I do respect it. It’s a bit funky and unexpected.
[name]John[/name] - there is an absolute pandemic (right word? Possibly not… I think you get the picture, though, lol) of Johns in my family! I am a bit tired of hearing it, which is why I won’t use it, but it is a nice, classic, timeless, respectable name. I would be pleased to meet a little [name]John[/name], I think. I’ve settled on just [name]Jack[/name] to honor all the Johns in my life, but [name]John[/name] is nice, too. Would you use a nn for it?
[name]Graham[/name] - handsome! I like it a lot, although I do prefer [name]Gray[/name] and [name]Grant[/name] personally.
[name]Silas[/name] - like a lot! It was on my top 3 a few years ago, then dropped out of favor, and I’m starting to love it again. I don’t think it’ll make it to my top 10 this time around, but I love seeing it on others’ lists. I think something like [name]Silas[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] would be really handsome.

[name]Walter[/name] - like, but I prefer it as a MN. I like other old-fashioned classics ([name]Arthur[/name], [name]Charles[/name], [name]William[/name], etc.) more, although the association to [name]Walter[/name] [name]Bishop[/name] on Fringe makes me smile. haha.
[name]Leland[/name] - a bit too cowboyish for me (and possibly the rest of your list)! It’s a nice name but it doesn’t seem to fit with the others, imo.
[name]Philip[/name] - I don’t exactly love [name]Philip[/name] personally, but I respect it, and I absolutely love the nn [name]Pip[/name]! I think [name]Philip[/name] nn [name]Pip[/name] is so cute.
[name]Isaac[/name] - I prefer this more as a MN, but [name]Isaac[/name] is charming and handsome. I would love to meet one.
