Hello namers!! My husband and I are having a hard time choosing girls names. One that we both like is [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f]. The only thing I have a problem with is that our last name is Henson, so I’m afraid [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] Henson is gonna sound too much like [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] Johansson. Lol! Am I being ridiculous or do u think its likely that people will think we named our daughter after her?
I asked a non-namenerd and he immediately thought of [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] Johansson. So I guess that’s a no?
You’re overthinking it. I don’t think they’re very similar.
I think if the potential of it sounding like bothers you (law of averages ya know?) then I’d use another name.
I do see the similarity, which, if it bothers you, I’d consider using it as a middle and opt for a different first?
I don’t think it’s that big of a deal, honestly. Sure, they sound vaguely similar but it’s not like it’s going to hinder her in everyday life. And I definitely wouldn’t assume you named your [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] after Johansson! [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f]'s such a familiar name that it’s not like using an obscure name solely represented by a singular celebrity. However, if it truly bothers you, maybe opt for [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] in the middle spot.
