So, a long time ago I heard about/ read about someone suggesting the name [name]Milo[/name] for a girl. I immediately fell in love with it, and to this day it is still my favourite name for a girl. However, I prefer the spelling Myleaux. I’m not trying to be different or “yooneek”, I just think it’s a more beautiful, feminine spelling. If I ever were to have a daughter, her name would be Myleaux [name]Brielle[/name]. What do you think?
I also love the name [name]Shiloh[/name]/ Shyleaux
Sorry, but that’s DEFINITELY a “yooneek” spelling. Not to mention unpronounceable. [name]Milo[/name] and [name]Shiloh[/name] are beautiful names – when spelled correctly.
Kind of mean. I think it’s really just going to make life complicated for her. If you are set on [name]Milo[/name], even though it still seems really masculine to me, just spell it [name]Milo[/name]. It’s not going to make life any easier giving her a really hard to spell and pronounce boys name.
I’m sorry, but that is horrible. Please don’t do that to a child. Not only will it never get pronounced right, it will cause her to be passed over for jobs. Sad truth.
That’s highly yooneek in spelling. I personally would not enjoy being named Myleaux.
The spelling just seems so unnecessary.
[name]Milo[/name] and [name]Shiloh[/name] are fine as is.
No. Sorry, just no.
When I see Myleaux I think you are trying to twist [name]Milo[/name] into a French name or something. Sorry, but I imagine alot of people would think the same. Stick with plain and simple.
I knew a Mylo - her full name was Mylita.
emiliaj
Other than the fact that [name]Milo[/name] is all boy for me and spelling it Myleaux seems extremely flippant and unnecessary, I can’t stand [name]Brielle[/name]. So the whole name is a no for me.
I like the suggestion of Mylo, but your original spelling of Myleaux I think, would be a mistake. The poor child would have to contantly spelling it for everyone or telling them how to pronounce her name. I think if you like the name, go with the original spelling. I think [name]Milo[/name] or Mylo [name]Brielle[/name] is so sweet.
Hello feather!
[name]Do[/name] you live in an area where French is common? If it is, then spelling it Myleaux would not be a stretch… People would know how to pronounce it… but they would also expect that you have a French background. However, spelling it like that makes it look like a city/place name to me. Mylo [name]Brielle[/name] sounds pretty, but is the meaning of the names important to you? NB says that [name]Brielle[/name] “lacks heft” and that it is from the name “[name]Brie[/name]” -which is a cheese (although a very yummy cheese). Babynames.com says that [name]Milo[/name] means “soldier”. That might be something to consider when deciding if you’re going to use those two names. Would you want your daughter to be named Soldier Cheese?
I’ll second this. Myleaux is horrific. Please don’t inflict it on a little girl. What about [name]Miley[/name]? Its not legit, but its definitely recognised as feminine?
Myleaux is horrible, sorry. [name]Milo[/name] is pretty bad on a girl too!
i wouldnt name my daughter milo, although i do see the appeal. but i do not see the appeal of myleaux. Id suggest sticking to the [name]Milo[/name] spelling
Some less wacky spellings: Mylo, Miloh, Mailo. Myleaux is a clever but cumbersome and creeighaytyve spelling.
[name]Milo[/name] is a fairly masculine name to me, so I wouldn’t use it on a daughter…though I would love it on a boy. And I can see where you are coming from with Myleaux, but to be honest, I’d have no idea how to pronounce that if I saw it out of context (as in, if you hadn’t said “[name]Milo[/name]”) and so I think it would come off as a made-up/‘yoonique’ name. Why not [name]Myra[/name] or [name]Mira[/name] or [name]Mila[/name]?
(Same with [name]Shiloh[/name]- so much cuter spelled that way.)
I love unique names, and so I think that [name]Milo[/name] would be cute for a girl! I knew a girl named [name]Marlo[/name] (sounds similar to milo) when I was little and I thought it was the coolest name ever! However, I think [name]Milo[/name] is unique enough for a girl as it is, the “yooneik” spelling is unecessary and will be confusing. But I say [name]Milo[/name] [name]Brielle[/name] is a good name, if you love it, go for it!
I think it’s beating a dead horse to reiterate the "no"ness of Myleaux. I will say that [name]Milo[/name] is a cute on a girl, even though it is masculine (I’d never do it myself, but I’m a little intrigued by women going by masculine names such as [name]Edward[/name]/[name]Fred[/name], as well as men freely using “girlier” male names such as [name]Ariel[/name] or [name]Ellis[/name]). You could do what some people have suggested and give her a more feminine name (with nn [name]Milo[/name]) if you wanted to give it a bit of femininity.
Some ideas:
[name]Maya[/name] [name]Lola[/name] (haha, a bit more interesting than I anticipated, but you get my point fn MI-, mn LO-)
[name]Michelle[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Myla[/name] [name]Olivia[/name]
etc.
But I don’t think [name]Milo[/name] [name]Brielle[/name] is bad at all, just adding some ideas to the mix.
Sorry to be rude but… are you serious?! For one, [name]Milo[/name] is all boy. But if you insist on giving a little girl a man’s name, at least own it and spell it correctly. That spelling will not only be hard for friends and family to remember, but I can’t imagine a little kid remembering how to spell that. Not to mention all the strangers she will encounter that not only think she’s a boy with the name [name]Milo[/name], but they won’t know how to spell or say her name. Please don’t do this to a child. I couldn’t imagine growing up with a name like that. Again, sorry for being rude but this is just bad.
Oh, and [name]Shiloh[/name] is a dog’s name [name]IMO[/name], no matter what Brangelina says!
I cringe…that is just awful there are so many things wrong with that spellinghow wrong can you spell it??? And its a boys name
please don’t do it
I don’t like the spelling at all, it’s just going to lead to TONS of mispronunciation. Then again, I don’t like [name]Milo[/name] on a girl. It’s defiantly more of a boy name. I also see it as more of a name for a pet, probably because of and [name]Milo[/name] and [name]Ottis[/name] and the fact my fiance’s mom’s cat is named [name]Milo[/name]. So I can never see it on a human, but I defiantly think it’s more of a boys name…
Also I don’t know if you’re married/engaged, but I highly doubt your man would agree to that… From my experience men tend to try to avoid unique names, be it the name itself or the spelling.
