[name_u]Baby[/name_u] #4 is due in three months and we’re kicking around names for her, to join siblings [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].
What do you think of these names and are there any others you’d suggest?
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] fits well with your other children’s names. [name_f]Anne[/name_f] would sound just as nice.
Some suggestions that come to mind based on your picks…
[name_f]Collette[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f]
(Both contain the “et” sound in [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] and the first letter “C” of your first three name choices).
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Annalise[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
You have lovely options! [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] would get my vote!
[name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosa[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] came to mind
Your children have lovely names. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] fits very well, but I know literally dozens of young Carolines in the eastern U.S. so I hesitate to recommend it even though I usually am not bothered by popularity. I quite like the suggestion of [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] for you. Other ideas:
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]–this was my first thought
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Helen[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]/[name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Theresa[/name_f]/[name_f]Teresa[/name_f]/[name_f]Therese[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] are my favorites from your list! I think that all the names you picked would fit in well with your other children’s names, though!
Oh, I think I remember when you named [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]! I really like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] for you, it keeps things simple, traditional and down-to-earth as you like it. There are so many literary and film references for [name_f]Anna[/name_f] that I think are marvelous… [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Anne[/name_f] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] from Frozen which kids adore… My second choice would be [name_f]Claire[/name_f], but I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] sounds a lot more delicate and classic for some reason than [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] reminds me of women of my age, whereas [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] are more sweet grandmotherly figures.
I love [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], so very [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women, and for this reason we also are considering [name_f]Amy[/name_f]; sadly, my husband is not a fan of [name_f]Louisa[/name_f].
My current top choice is [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]; it’s pretty and strong, fits with our other names, and I love its history and meaning. Also, I’ve never met one, which instantly ups the allure of a name for me.
My grandmother was [name_f]Helen[/name_f], so that name pulls at me, too.
I think my issue is, I like a lot of names and have trouble vetoing any of them.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] are my favourites, they’re both simple with long histories behind them, perfect for fitting with the other names! Much like hollyplai, I say [name_f]Anne[/name_f] fits just as well.
Thank you @jonquil! Amazing memory! We did consider [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], which my husband ultimately vetoed. We had a heart-to-Heart tonight and he narrowed our list to [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Amy[/name_f]; I’m partial to [name_f]Amy[/name_f] [name_f]Amy[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] might be a good combo, too
I really like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] with your oldest children’s names (beautiful names!). Maybe, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] or [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]?
