[name]Hi[/name] there, we have our second girl fast approaching and no idea what to call her! Our 19 month old is [name]Eden[/name] [name]Nellie[/name] so will need to go well with that name. Her last name starts with H so all H names are out. Here is a rough list of ideas so far
[name]Eden[/name] [name]Nellie[/name] and …
[name]Frankie[/name] [name]Jean[/name] ( we both love this but my family hate it, they think its for boys only) [name]Jean[/name] is after a relative
[name]Elsie[/name] [name]Rose[/name] ( not sure about two E names?)
[name]Maggie[/name] ?
[name]Betty[/name] ?
[name]Alba[/name] ( I think A names go well with [name]Eden[/name])
[name]Addy[/name] ?
I dislike [name]Frankie[/name] for girl, sorry! [name]Francesca[/name] or [name]Frances[/name] would be prettier. [name]Love[/name] [name]Jean[/name], [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Alba[/name]. [name]Maggie[/name], [name]Betty[/name], and [name]Addy[/name] are all I prefer as nicknames.
Wow what personality the names you have chosen have! They are so different but cool at the same time!
I love [name]Frankie[/name] for a girl, but as a nickname. As c@29 stated - maybe a longer name that shortens to [name]Frankie[/name]? I love the magazine that totes that name as well Also - [name]Frankie[/name] goes well with [name]Eden[/name]!
I adore [name]Frankie[/name] on a little girl but I would definitely give her a full name with the option of [name]Frankie[/name] as a nickname. [name]Frances[/name] and [name]Francesca[/name] would be lovely.
Your names are all a little nicknamey for me, apart from [name]Alba[/name], which I do agree is pretty cute with [name]Eden[/name].
[name]Elsie[/name] is getting popular in the UK but I prefer [name]Elsa[/name] or [name]Elspeth[/name] nn [name]Elie[/name].
[name]Maggie[/name] would need to be [name]Margaret[/name] [name]IMO[/name].
[name]How[/name] about [name]Adeline[/name] or [name]Adelaide[/name] or [name]Adele[/name] with the nickname [name]Addy[/name]. I think [name]Eden[/name] & [name]Adele[/name] would be cute.
I don’t like [name]Betty[/name] but [name]Betsy[/name] would be cute.
[name]Frankie[/name]-[name]Jean[/name] is really cute for a little girl if you’re going to stick with the entire double barreled name. It is very fresh and definatley girly.
She might want to go with [name]Jean[/name] as she is older and would have that option!
My name is [name]Francine[/name] and My friends and family always called me [name]Francine[/name] which I LOVED! I always got compliments on my name growing up. I didn’t have a nn and that was ok, because I really loved my name. Also, my name is what drew my husband to me! (that’s another story…lol)
I finally got the nn [name]Frankie[/name] from my co-workers as an adult later in life. Anyway, I worked with these people for about 2 years really like the job and the co-workers but the nn [name]Frankie[/name] got really tired to me. Maybe if it would have been double barreled like [name]Frankie[/name]-[name]Jean[/name], [name]Frankie[/name]-[name]Ann[/name] or [name]Frankie[/name]-[name]Mae[/name], it wouldn’t have gotten so boring. I didn’t have the heart to ask them to quit calling me [name]Frankie[/name]. As time passed and we move on, I found a much better job with a more reputable company. They asked me what I would like to be called and even mentioned the name [name]Frankie[/name] (which shocked me at the time as there were no connections between this company and the new one) Well, I insisted that they all call me [name]Francine[/name]. They even had a gold nameplate made for my Desk with “[name]Francine[/name]”. The name has always brought me a lot of respect, dignity and even a few turned heads and bent ears. I’m not putting the name [name]Frankie[/name] down, just giving some first hand knowledge on the name from experience as I have lived it. Thanks for listening!
[name]Eden[/name] is so beautiful and epic, a little sister might feel a bit over looked if her name is [name]Betty[/name] or [name]Maggie[/name] (love these names though). I think [name]Alba[/name] is perfect with [name]Eden[/name], and [name]Elsie[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is really gorgeous too.
Other suggestions:
[name]Aura[/name]
[name]Carmel[/name] (if you feel like being a bit theme-y)
[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Isis[/name]
Leto
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Nova[/name]
[name]Oriane[/name]
[name]Vega[/name]
From your list I really like [name]Frankie[/name] [name]Jean[/name], [name]Elsie[/name] [name]Rose[/name], & [name]Maggie[/name]! [name]Elsie[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is my favorite and I think it goes perfect with [name]Eden[/name]. I see you like short and sweet names so maybe something like:
[name]Lila/name
[name]Clio[/name] /[name]Cleo[/name]
[name]Lula[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Calla[/name]
[name]May[/name] or [name]Mabel[/name] nn [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Mila[/name]
[name]Amoris[/name]
[name]Acacia[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Aira[/name]
[name]Mira[/name]
[name]Twyla[/name]
[name]Navy[/name]
Instead of [name]Alba[/name], have you considered [name]Alma[/name]? I think [name]Eden[/name] and [name]Alma[/name] sound great together. I also think something ending in la would be good. [name]Lila[/name], [name]Mila[/name], etc.
I think all of these would go well with [name]Eden[/name]:
[name]Adel[/name] (nn [name]Addy[/name]) or [name]Adeline[/name] or [name]Adela[/name]
[name]Alys[/name] or [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Avis[/name]
[name]Avery[/name]
I strongly dislike [name]Frankie[/name] for a girl, sorry. I don’t think it pairs well with [name]Eden[/name], even despite my personal feelings. [name]Eden[/name] seems very elegant and sophisticated. I really like your choice of [name]Elsie[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. It is a lovely combination and goes well with [name]Eden[/name]. Good luck!
I am really liking the sound of [name]Maggie[/name] next to [name]Eden[/name]. [name]Maggie[/name] [name]Jean[/name] or [name]Maggie[/name] [name]Rose[/name] would be adorable! Good luck! =]
i love [name]Elsie[/name] [name]Rose[/name].
Maybe i’m biased because [name]Elsie[/name] is a family name but i think that [name]Eden[/name] and [name]Elsie[/name] would be cute together.
I quite like [name]Alba[/name], too. It’s really unexpected and refreshing.
It seems like you’re drawn to cheerful, unpretentious, nickname names. I know that’s a huge trend right now in UK but I think in a few years those names will seem very dated.
I want to second [name]Avis[/name] and [name]Alma[/name]-- they’re sweet, vintage and unpretentious, but they’re full and striking names.
Thanks so much for all the good advice. Has given me alot to think about! I found it so easy with my first girl but this one is much trickier 4 some reason. I am leaning towards [name]Frankie[/name], [name]Alba[/name], [name]Elsa[/name]/[name]Elsie[/name] and [name]Maggie[/name]. I know lots of people dislike [name]Frankie[/name] including my mum but I still love it! 3 months left till we need to make a decision! Aaarrrhhggg. [name]Will[/name] have to put it to a poll when I decide on top two. Thanks again!
I really like [name]Frankie[/name]. I agree that it’s a little mismatched with [name]Eden[/name], but it’s really darling. I knew a woman- a friend of my mom’s- whose name was [name]Frankie[/name] (in this case, I’m sure it was a nickname for [name]Frances[/name]). She was tall and striking and she swore like a sailor. Of course I loved her.
Have you considered [name]Franka[/name]? It’s similar in feel, but feminine enough to maybe get your in-laws off your back.
With [name]Eden[/name] [name]Nellie[/name], I’m really liking [name]Alba[/name] [name]Frances[/name]. Then, if you want, you can call her [name]Frankie[/name] for short.
I like [name]Elsa[/name]/[name]Elsie[/name] [name]Rose[/name]…but…if you love [name]Frankie[/name], you should follow your heart. No one else’s opinion matters as much as your own! You can always do a longer name ([name]Francesca[/name], for example) and use [name]Frankie[/name] as a full-time nick-name.
