Looking for thoughts and opinions on our short list for a boy. We have 2 girls, both with A names, but don’t want an A name this time for our first boy. Our girls are [name_f]Alivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Aubree[/name_f].
Our short list:
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] ([name_m]Ben[/name_m]) - I love [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]…love it! Dh loves [name_m]Ben[/name_m], and [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] isn’t his favorite, but he said he would be ok with it if baby has his middle name which is [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m].
[name_m]Levi[/name_m] [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] - We both like [name_m]Levi[/name_m], but our daughter [name_f]Alivia[/name_f] goes by the nickname Livi. So [name_m]Levi[/name_m] and Livi would be very close.
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Levi[/name_m] - [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] used to be our top boy name with girl #2, but we aren’t sure we love it as much anymore
[name_m]Nathan[/name_m] ??? - [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] was our top boy name for girl #1, but again, not my favorite anymore, though I do like the nickname [name_m]Nate[/name_m]. Dh also has a cousin (who we never see) named [name_m]Nathan[/name_m].
[name_m]Levi[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] - Someone suggested this, and still have him go by [name_m]Ben[/name_m], but that way dh likes his first name more, and he has the option of using [name_m]Levi[/name_m] later on? I just always thought it was odd to name them something only to use their middle name.
Of your options, I prefer [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Levi[/name_m] and [name_m]Levi[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m]. But all your options are nice!
I think they all go well with [name_f]Alivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Aubree[/name_f] except for [name_m]Levi[/name_m], due to [name_f]Alivia[/name_f]'s nickname. It is not out of the question but I think you could end-up tongue tied if you had to shout-out both their names at the same time. I would say my top two would be [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] and [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], although I personally prefer no nicknames. Maybe your husband would come around to [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] over time. Some people, me included, need to think on a name for a while. He could just be comfortable with [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m] because those names are more well-known.
