Opinions on Possible Sibsets!

Firstly, I’d like to thank everyone who replied to my thread about matchy triplet names. Hubby and I talked and decided it might not be the crime against humanity my mother has made it out to be. So, with the help of my new best friend Google and some Nameberry lists we have configured possible “themed” name sets, if you will.

[name]Imogen[/name], [name]Frida[/name], and [name]Ellis[/name] (artist names)
[name]Alice[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name]-yep, it’s back on the table-, and [name]Ivy[/name] (names from classic rock, of which we are huge fans)
[name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], and [name]Cordelia[/name] (old ladyish names)
[name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Gemma[/name], and [name]Oriana[/name] (of DH’s origin, Italian)
[name]Ianthe[/name], [name]Story[/name], and [name]Thisbe[/name] (names I love but am probably too chicken to use :P)
[name]Olive[/name], [name]Henrietta[/name], and [name]Juliet[/name]/te (names from our family trees)

Also, we are completely stuck on middle names and we’d appreciate and suggestions! Any ideas for honoring a [name]Howard[/name] or [name]Geoffrey[/name]/[name]Jeffrey[/name] in the middle would be great. Thanks!!

~[name]Celestia[/name]

the first and second sibsets are PERFECT.

Top Three Sets

[name]Alice[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] - Probably my favourite trio! [name]Lovely[/name]!
[name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], and [name]Cordelia[/name] - all of them have an “el” in them but I don’t mind them as a trio.
[name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Gemma[/name], and [name]Oriana[/name] - [name]Aurelia[/name] is my favourite name of the three. They’re all frilly and feminine.

Bottom Three

[name]Imogen[/name], [name]Frida[/name], and [name]Ellis[/name] - I would not have a boyish name like [name]Ellis[/name] with the other two noticeably feminine names
[name]Ianthe[/name], [name]Story[/name], and [name]Thisbe[/name] - This is my least favourite
[name]Olive[/name], [name]Henrietta[/name], and [name]Juliet[/name]/te - the last two names are too matchy

[name]Imogen[/name], [name]Frida[/name], and [name]Ellis[/name] - I’m not really into this one, is [name]Ellis[/name] a girl or a boy?
[name]Alice[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name], and [name]Ivy[/name] - My favorite of the sibset names. All three are totally beautiful!
[name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], and [name]Cordelia[/name] - Second favorite of the sibset names, I’m into vintage old-lady names!
[name]Aurelia[/name], Ggemma, and [name]Oriana[/name] - Pretty
[name]Ianthe[/name], [name]Story[/name], and [name]Thisbe[/name] - Interesting, the only one that I would say is actually usable is [name]Story[/name], I have lots of names that I love but would never be brave enough to use either
[name]Olive[/name], [name]Henrietta[/name], and [name]Juliet[/name] - They are okay, but I think you have a few other sibsets that are prettier!

I love both-
[name]Alice[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Hazel[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name]

Hmm…
[name]Imogen[/name], [name]Frida[/name] & [name]Ellis[/name] - [name]Imogen[/name] is a lovely name, I’m not really sure on the name [name]Frida[/name] and [name]Ellis[/name] feels strange in the sibling set.
Ideas: [name]Imogen[/name], [name]Freya[/name] & [name]Elise[/name]

[name]Alice[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name] & [name]Ivy[/name] - Loving this sibling set! [name]Alice[/name] is beautiful, she sounds beautiful with [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] rounds the combination so well.

[name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Hazel[/name] & [name]Cordelia[/name] - I love [name]Adelaide[/name] very spunky and elegant I also adore [name]Adelaide[/name] with [name]Cordelia[/name] the combination work stunningly well together however I really dislike [name]Hazel[/name].
Ideas: [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name] & [name]Cordelia[/name]

[name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] & [name]Oriana[/name] - I love [name]Aurelia[/name] she’s really elegant, and pretty. [name]Gemma[/name] to my British ears feels rather dated and [name]Oriana[/name] is too similar to [name]Aurelia[/name] for siblings.
Ideas: [name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Francesca[/name] & [name]Liliana[/name]

[name]Ianthe[/name], [name]Story[/name] & [name]Thisbe[/name]: Yes I’d defiantly be far to chicken too use these names! [name]Ianthe[/name] is a pretty Greek choice, [name]Story[/name] feels so spunky whereas [name]Thisbe[/name] isn’t my style. Still together they make an interesting sibling set.

[name]Olive[/name], [name]Henrietta[/name] & [name]Juliet[/name]: [name]Love[/name] this so timely and feminine.

My favourites:
[name]Alice[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name] & [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Olive[/name], [name]Henrietta[/name] & [name]Juliet[/name]

Middle names ‘honouring’ [name]Howard[/name] & [name]Geoffrey[/name]/[name]Jeffrey[/name]:
[name]Howard[/name] - [name]Hayward[/name] as a potential way of honouring [name]Howard[/name]. ‘H’ names like [name]Hallie[/name], [name]Hart[/name] or [name]Hartley[/name].
[name]Geoffrey[/name]/[name]Jeffrey[/name] - Jephers, [name]Jeffree[/name] or Jepherson unusual/little trendy but the only ones I cannot thing of any other options.

[name]Alice[/name] [name]Hayward[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name] Jepherson & [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Tatum[/name]
[name]Olive[/name] [name]Louisa[/name], [name]Henrietta[/name] [name]Rose[/name] & [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]

xxx

I like [name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Gemma[/name], & [name]Oriana[/name] and [name]Ianthe[/name], [name]Story[/name], & [name]Thisbe[/name] the most! Either would be very, very pretty!

If your too “chicken” to use [name]Ianthe[/name], [name]Story[/name], & [name]Thisbe[/name] as first names, then how about using them as middles?

[name]How[/name] about maybe [name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Story[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Ianthe[/name], & [name]Oriana[/name] [name]Thisbe[/name]?

Loving this!

[name]Alice[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] - My absolute favorite

[name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Gemma[/name], and [name]Oriana[/name] - Like [name]Aurelia[/name] and [name]Oriana[/name] together, [name]Gemma[/name] seems out of place though. Since we have an “A” and an “O”, I am suggesting “E” - [name]Eleanora[/name]

[name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Eleanora[/name] and [name]Oriana[/name]

I hate themes, but these are my opinions based on how well they sound together:

[name]Imogen[/name], [name]Frida[/name], and [name]Ellis[/name] - Please tell me [name]Frida[/name] is after [name]Frida[/name] [name]Kahlo[/name]?! This seems very miss-matched to me, but I like that in this case.

[name]Alice[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name], [name]Ivy[/name] - These are lovely together.

[name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], and [name]Cordelia[/name] - They don’t strike me as going together well. ‘Old-lady’ is very broad and I feel they don’t sit right.

[name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Gemma[/name], and [name]Oriana[/name] - I like this one a lot. They go very well together.

[name]Ianthe[/name], [name]Story[/name], and [name]Thisbe[/name] - I’m confused at how this is a theme? What will you tell them when they’re older ‘‘Our theme for your names was ‘We’re not sure if these are usable’’’. I mean, they’re nice names, but…

[name]Olive[/name], [name]Henrietta[/name], and [name]Juliet[/name]/te - I love this one! I normally prefer [name]Juliet[/name] with this spelling, but I like the idea of repeating the double T like in [name]Henrietta[/name].

My favourite are [name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Gemma[/name], and [name]Oriana[/name]. [name]Gemma[/name] does feel a touch out of place.
Then [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], and [name]Cordelia[/name], the rest I’m not a fan of really.

[name]Alice[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name], and [name]Ivy[/name] are my favorite, followed by your artist group. Your classic rock names just have a certain edge to them. No ideas for a middle name… Maybe something like a middle name of [name]Howard[/name] or [name]Geoffrey[/name], interests, etc.

This. Exactly.

[name]Imogen[/name], [name]Frida[/name], and [name]Ellis[/name] - Almost perfect…[name]Ellis[/name] just doesn’t fit in my opinion as it’s my last name, so I can’t see it in the middle.
[name]Alice[/name], [name]Cecilia[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] - Gorgeous in every way.
[name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Hazel[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this.
[name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Gemma[/name] and [name]Oriana[/name] - [name]Lovely[/name], though [name]Gemma[/name] does sound a little plain in between [name]Aurelia[/name] and [name]Oriana[/name].
[name]Ianthe[/name], [name]Story[/name] and [name]Thisbe[/name] - Gorgeous! Though if you’re probably too chicken to use them in the first name spot, perhaps in the middle?
[name]Olive[/name], [name]Henrietta[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] - [name]Love[/name] [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Henrietta[/name]! [name]Juliet[/name] seems a little out of place however.

Middle name suggestions:
[name]Maren[/name]
[name]Ada[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Gretchen[/name]
[name]Jewel[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Ida[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Harper[/name]
[name]Marcella[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Claudia[/name]
[name]Cornelia[/name]
[name]Lana[/name]
[name]Ariadne[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Serenity[/name]
[name]Sage[/name]
[name]Trinity[/name]
[name]Grace[/name]
[name]Rena[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Celia[/name]

Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I’m trying to cajole DH (and myself) into being brave enough to mark [name]Story[/name], [name]Ianthe[/name], and [name]Thisbe[/name] as top contenders.
The other top choices are
[name]Ivy[/name], [name]Alice[/name], and [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], and [name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Gemma[/name], and [name]Oriana[/name](thinking of replaicing that first one with [name]Aurelie[/name])

Thank you [name]Fiammetta[/name] for the lovely mn’s!! My favorites are [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Sage[/name], and [name]Ariadne[/name]

My favourite is [name]Alice[/name], [name]Cecelia[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name]!!! But just an idea how about [name]Alice[/name], [name]Celia[/name] and [name]Lacie[/name] they are all acronyms of one another which is so sweet for triplets and very similar to [name]Alice[/name], [name]Cecelia[/name] And [name]Ivy[/name]!!! For middles [name]Alice[/name] [name]Ianthe[/name], [name]Celia[/name]/cecelia [name]Story[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name]/[name]Lacie[/name] [name]Thisbe[/name] or [name]Alice[/name] [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Celia[/name] [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Lacie[/name] [name]Henrietta[/name]!!

[name]Frida[/name] (or [name]Freya[/name]) would be a good candidate for a middle name… You could pull it from the end of [name]Jeffrey[/name].

[name]Alice[/name]. [name]Cecilia[/name]. [name]Ivy[/name]. My favorite combo for sure!!!

Also, I do like [name]Ellis[/name]. If you were going to use it though I would combine it with [name]Olive[/name] and another name that’s also spunky/not overly girly…like [name]Thea[/name] or Thisby could work. I also really like [name]Tea[/name] (tay-uh). I think [name]Ellis[/name], [name]Olive[/name], and [name]Gemma[/name] work well too.

There are a lot of good options here!!

Edited for privacy.

If [name]Henrietta[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] are in a set together, I think the third name should be [name]Olivette[/name] instead of [name]Olive[/name]. It’s a little match-y with the ends, but then the spelling of each one is slightly different.
