Opinions on Rafferty and Sullivan?

What you think of [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u], with nn’s [name_u]Rafe[/name_u] and [name_u]Sully[/name_u]? What impressions do they give, what girls names can you imagine them ‘going with’?

Also some combos we like are:

[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] [name_u]Cedar[/name_u] [name_m]Jett[/name_m]
[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m]

…but not sure if they are too ‘out there’?
Thanks

(2 middle names used for traditional reasons)

I really love both names! I personally wouldn’t use the first names myself, but I sort of wish I would! I have always loved [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] nn [name_u]Sully[/name_u], and I have a friend with the last name that sounds really close to [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and friends call him that exclusively and I love it!
The middle names are amazing. [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] and [name_u]Cedar[/name_u]!! swoon I like [name_m]Fox[/name_m] better than [name_m]Jett[/name_m], but it is fitting!
These would be amazing brothers names!

Thank you so much!
I agree about [name_m]Jett[/name_m], I actually prefer [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] [name_u]Cedar[/name_u] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] but I didn’t know if it was too ‘matchy’ with [name_m]Fox[/name_m]…

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] “[name_u]Sully[/name_u]”! Its a front runner for our boy name!

Girl names we are considering as well to go with:

[name_f]Anya[/name_f]
Sellah
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f]
[name_u]Perrin[/name_u] “[name_f]Perri[/name_f]”
[name_f]Indy[/name_f]
Vaida
[name_f]Maven[/name_f]
[name_u]Lucca[/name_u]
[name_u]Leighton[/name_u]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Antigone[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Anthea[/name_f]

I prefer [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] it’s a guilty pleasure of mine. I much prefer [name_m]Rafael[/name_m] to [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]

[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] is my very favourite boys name- my fiance and I have had it picked for our first boy since well before we got engaged! Not sure about [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]- but I think the nn [name_m]Raffy[/name_m] is cute for a little boy, and [name_u]Rafe[/name_u] for an older child.

Some of our favourite girls name (though we haven’t picked out any in advance as we have with [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] for a boy):

  • [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Noa[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Thea[/name_f] (trying to get fiance on board with this one!)
  • [name_f]Ada[/name_f]

I’m really not a fan of [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u], I don’t see the appeal, but I love [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m].

I’d pair something preppy sounding with [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m];

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Betsy[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]India[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]

I love these names–both are super spunky!

I like [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] better as a combo. I like the idea of [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] [name_u]Cedar[/name_u] [name_m]Jett[/name_m], but i don’t love the transition between [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and [name_u]Cedar[/name_u] with the back to back long E’s, and not sure about [name_u]Cedar[/name_u] [name_m]Jett[/name_m] next to each other either. hmm will have to think on that one.

I could see some of these maybe working in a sibset:
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Leona[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nola[/name_f]?

Thank you all for your replies! It’s very helpful to hear other peoples opinions
