opinions on sister for william and clara

I’ve really enjoyed reading these thoughtful posts, and now I hope I can receive some thoughtful feedback!
In a mere month, we’re welcoming a daughter to join big brother [name]William[/name] and big sister [name]Clara[/name]. My husband and I spent about 5 minutes total deciding their names during my previous pregnancies; they were family names and favorites–no brainers! But we’re struggling to find a similarly classic name to fit our new baby girl.
Here are our favorites for first names:
[name]Caroline[/name] (My favorite, but it’s tempered by the fact that it’s not my husband’s hands-down favorite, and we know quite a few Carolines. But I still love it.)

We’d love to work a meaningful family name into her name as well-perhaps as a middle- such as:
[name]Anne[/name] ([name]Both[/name] of our mother’s middle names, and similar to my name, [name]Anna[/name])
[name]Eva[/name] (Husband’s grandmother’s name; [name]Clara[/name] is named after my grandmother, so that would be neat to have the two girls carry granny names. However we’re not crazy about it as a first name. I don’t know if it’s “us”)

Any ideas on combinations that work better than others? What is your opinion on how they sound with [name]William[/name] and [name]Clara[/name]? Am I stressing over nothing?
I should mention that our last name is one syllable, so we definitely want to do two or more syllables. There are so many classic, feminine choices out there, but unfortunately, we have a huge family and many of my favorites are taken. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Of the names you listed I love [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Anne[/name].

I also [name]Love[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] so much but not with [name]Anne[/name] or [name]Eva[/name]. Could you use [name]Eve[/name]? [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Eve[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Eve[/name] as a first? [name]Eve[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] has a pretty sound.

If your DH doesn’t like [name]Caroline[/name], how about [name]Carolina[/name]? Needs a 1 syllable in the middle I think:

[name]Carolina[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Carolina[/name] [name]Faye[/name]
[name]Carolina[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Carolina[/name] [name]Joy[/name]
[name]Carolina[/name] [name]Maye[/name]
[name]Carolina[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Carolina[/name] [name]Skye[/name]
[name]Carolina[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Carolina[/name] [name]Dawn[/name]

Some others with [name]Anne[/name] and [name]Eva[/name]/[name]Eve[/name] just for fun:
[name]Galen[/name] [name]Anne[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Anne[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name] [name]Anne[/name] nn [name]Maisie[/name]
[name]Mallory[/name] [name]Anne[/name]
[name]Laurel[/name] [name]Anne[/name]
[name]Willa[/name] [name]Anne[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name] [name]Anne[/name]

[name]Josephine[/name] [name]Eve[/name] nn [name]Josie[/name]
[name]Jacqueline[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Isabel[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Eugenie[/name] [name]Eve[/name]

You can also use [name]Anne[/name] within the first name:

[name]Hi[/name], [name]Anna[/name], and welcome to Nameberry! I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]William[/name] and [name]Clara[/name]!

[name]Julia[/name]: I adore [name]Julia[/name] (and [name]Juliet[/name], as well), and it sounds lovely with [name]William[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] (as does [name]Juliet[/name]).

[name]Charlotte[/name]: This is amazing with [name]William[/name] and [name]Clara[/name]!

[name]Caroline[/name] (My favorite, but it’s tempered by the fact that it’s not my husband’s hands-down favorite, and we know quite a few Carolines. But I still love it.): I love [name]Caroline[/name], too, but not as much as [name]Julia[/name]/[name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] with [name]William[/name] and [name]Clara[/name]. Plus, your husband isn’t over the moon about it, which is critical and what truly matters.

Of your choices, I honestly can’t pick between [name]Julia[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name], so I’ll go with [name]Julia[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]. Honestly, either (even [name]Caroline[/name]) would be gorgeous! You can’t go wrong with these choices!

[name]Julia[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]

[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]

[name]Eve[/name] [name]Julia[/name]
[name]Eve[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Eve[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]

I love [name]Anne[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name]/[name]Annabelle[/name], and alternatives to [name]Eva[/name] include: [name]Eve[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name], and [name]Genevieve[/name].

Some more random ideas:
[name]Diana[/name] (contains [name]Anne[/name]'s sound…)

[name]Edit[/name] to add [name]Juliet[/name] combos that work with [name]Eva[/name]-ish names:
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]

Best wishes!

I was thinking about your names, and wanted to mention that [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] are very similar in sound, and you may find yourself in the midst of a tongue-twister while addressing them by name. If you add an L to [name]Caroline[/name], it’s Claroline, and I know I’d often mangle [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] when saying them together! This may just be me, but I thought I’d mention it.!

[name]Love[/name] [name]William[/name] and [name]Clara[/name]! You have great taste. Of your three choices, I like [name]Charlotte[/name] the best, with [name]Julia[/name] being a close second. [name]Caroline[/name] is a beautiful name, but I do agree that it has a very similar sound to [name]Clara[/name].

[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Anne[/name] (a beautiful classic)
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Annabel[/name] (cute as a button!)
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name]

[name]Julia[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Anne[/name]
[name]Julianne[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name]

Best of luck!

[name]William[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] are two of my very favorite names!
As much as I love [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name], I would go with [name]Julia[/name], so your third child could have her own unique initial. [name]Josephine[/name] is a fabulous choice, too. I saw that one of the posters recommended it. Since [name]William[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] are your children’s names and they are on my faves list, maybe you would like to know some of my other faves for girls:
[name]Georgia[/name] nn [name]Georgie[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name] nn [name]Bea[/name]
[name]Frances[/name] nn [name]Francie[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name] nn [name]Nora[/name]
[name]Catherine[/name] (starts with “c”)
[name]Caroline[/name] - ditto
[name]Charlotte[/name] - ditto
[name]Margaret[/name] nn [name]Maisie[/name]
[name]Rebecca[/name] nn [name]Becca[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] nn [name]Nell[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] nn [name]Eve[/name], [name]Evie[/name]
[name]Theresa[/name] nn [name]Tessa[/name]
[name]Veronica[/name] nn [name]Vera[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name] nn [name]Vivi[/name] and [name]Viv[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] nn [name]Tillie[/name], [name]Tilda[/name], [name]Mattie[/name]
[name]Irene[/name] - means peace
[name]Celeste[/name] - does start with “c”, but it is a soft “c”, so it’s different that [name]Clara[/name].

Thank you all so much for your help. It’s funny how so many of your suggested names are ones either my husband or I have really liked, but have had to rule out because they are the same as other family member’s names. I guess great minds really do think alike!

We are now debating between [name]Julia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Anne[/name]; we like both very much, so we may just wait and see if she “looks” like either one.

I also like the idea of this little one having her own initial, especially since she is only 2 years apart from her sister [name]Clara[/name] and they will no doubt be sharing most everything. Maybe she can have her own initial at the very least!

Also, that is good advice about mangling [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] when I’m calling them at the park or wherever. They do have similar sounds.

My only reservation about [name]Charlotte[/name] is that I [name]LOVE[/name], [name]LOVE[/name], [name]LOVE[/name] the way it looks on paper or written in type, but I am not sure I am crazy about saying aloud. That probably sounds crazy, but I just keep struggling to say it, whereas [name]Julia[/name] just rolls off my tongue. Another factor pushing me towards [name]Julia[/name] is when I was trying to get my daughter to say it (right now it’s just “bee bee”), her best efforts came up short. However, she did coin an adorable nickname (and I’m not someone who has to have a name with a nn) that would be a great family pet name: [name]Lula[/name]. I don’t think [name]Lula[/name] is officially short for [name]Julia[/name], but when you think about it, I can see how a two year-old would combine the sounds and come up with it. This kind of pulls on my heartstrings a bit. Of course, my four year-old son says [name]Julia[/name] is “thumbs down” and likes [name]Charlotte[/name], but I am not going to put too much stock into that opinion; it could change tomorrow!

Thanks again, and if you think of other ideas, I’ve still got a few weeks to go!

[name]Hi[/name] there! You don’t like how [name]Charlotte[/name] sounds, so I think you’ve answered your own question! [name]Julia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] is so lovely, and you could always go with [name]Julia[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] to please the whole family!

Some other random [name]Julia[/name] combos:
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Margot[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Julia[/name] [name]Violet[/name]

([name]Julia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] is my favorite, though!)

P.S. The [name]Lula[/name] nickname from your little girl is darling, and even though your son likes [name]Charlotte[/name] now, tomorrow he may prefer [name]Elmo[/name] or [name]Thor[/name].

[name]Both[/name] of those names are so so beautiful! I’m with you though, [name]Julia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] just flows perfectly. Congrads

[name]Julia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] is a wonderful choice! I love the nn [name]Lula[/name] and never thought of it for [name]Julia[/name]. It is very sweet especially since it comes from big sis [name]Clara[/name]. Best of luck and let us know when she arrives.

I love [name]Julia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]! Beautiful and elegant. I’m amazed that everyone hasn’t thought of this combo!

[name]Julia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] is lovely. My sister has a friend whose daughter has that name. I’m also thinking of [name]Julia[/name], considering [name]Julia[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name].

What about [name]Alice[/name]? I think [name]William[/name], [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Alice[/name] sound cute. What about [name]Alice[/name] [name]Evette[/name]? It has [name]Eve[/name] in it but its her own name at the same time!
[name]Hope[/name] I helped some!
