If my baby is a girl, we will probably name her [name]Lillian[/name]. I wanted to get some opinions on the spelling for nick name.

[name]Lillie[/name]
Or I’m also considering [name]Lila[/name].

Well personally I would go for [name]Lilly[/name]. But out of your choices I would choose [name]Lily[/name]. (although this would be more relevant if you spelled [name]Lillian[/name] like ‘[name]Lilian[/name]’) The other two look odd; [name]Lilli[/name] looks incomplete and a bit chavvy, and [name]Lillie[/name] just looks wrong.
I’m not sure if [name]Lila[/name] would work as a nn for [name]Lillian[/name], since they sounds nothing alike (the long i in lie-la and the short one in lil-ian).

I would spell it [name]Lily[/name]. I am NOT a fan of [name]Lilli[/name] - first of all it looks strange with all the vertical letters (“illi”), and it takes away from the beauty and classical elegance of the name. [name]Lillie[/name] is not that bad, but it makes me think of a lillie/lily pad. I would go with [name]Lily[/name], or if you want something a bit different, [name]Lilly[/name].
Either way, [name]Lillian[/name]/[name]Lily[/name] is a BEAUTIFUL name. [name]Lila[/name] would also work… perhaps [name]Lilah[/name]? Actually [name]Lilian[/name] and [name]Delilah[/name] are great sister names. [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lila[/name] are a bit close. If spelled [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Lilah[/name] it helps. Or [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Delilah[/name]. GORGEOUS!

I love [name]Lillian[/name]! It’s so sweet. I prefer the spelling [name]Lily[/name]–I know [name]Lillie[/name], [name]Lilli[/name], and [name]Lilly[/name] are closer to [name]Lillian[/name]'s actual spelling, but since [name]Lily[/name] is how the flower is spelled, it just looks cleaner-cut and more “correct” to me. I also love [name]Lila[/name]! [name]Liliana[/name] is on my own short list, and I’ve considered [name]Lila[/name] as a nn for it, as well. I do think it’s not as obvious as [name]Lily[/name], but I think either [name]Lily[/name] or [name]Lila[/name] would be lovely as a nn for [name]Lillian[/name]. I think deciding which nn you prefer is up to you, though… I’m torn between the two nns, and nobody can really convince me which one I like better, haha.
