Opinions on the list so far?

Hello Berries!

It has been a while since I have been active on the website, but I thank you all for your wonderful feedback on my first post!
Thanks to my scan yesterday, the doctor has confirmed; we’re expecting twins! One girl and one boy.
Our daughter [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] has suggested that you wonderful people could let me hear some opinions on (not all, as the list is long) the names in our current list. I will only be posting this here because we’ve already decided on our boy’s name (still looking for middles).
The List:
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Polly[/name_f]
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]; we love this nickname!)
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]

Thank you!

I like [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] the best!

I like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Elise[/name_f] with [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]. The combo [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is lovely too.

[name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], and [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] are precious!

The nickname [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is so cute, and I like that both [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] age well.

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is quite cute as well, but slightly more popular. However, if that doesn’t bother you I think it is an adorable name. I also love the nn option [name_f]Cara[/name_f].

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] is such a beautiful name, and I can’t help to think of The Nutcraker (which was my favorite ballet when I was young). I imagine someone named [name_f]Clara[/name_f] being radiant and joyful!

I like [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] the best! What’s your boys name?

In order of preference:

  1. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] just a simply gorgeous name that ages well and goes lovely with [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
  2. [name_f]Elise[/name_f], again simply gorgeous and I love the suggestion of [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
  3. Élisabeth nn [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], just so cute but again will age well
  4. [name_f]Polly[/name_f], familiar but underused and very vintage with [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] (a good thing in my mind!)
  5. [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], short and sweet but shouldn’t be overlooked!

Out of interest what name have you decided for your son as this could help determine the best choice for your daughter! Plus I am nosy when it comes to names!

@musicwaves & @lulu82 , we are naming our boy [name_u]August[/name_u]! We haven’t decided on a middle yet. Leaning towards [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] (family favourite), [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] ([name_f]Rosie[/name_f]'s highly favourable suggestion), and [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] (A favourite between me and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]).

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - I think it’s a little too plain, considering [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is somewhat rare and adventurous.
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] - are [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] too matchy/cutesy? I think so.
[name_f]Polly[/name_f] - now [name_f]Polly[/name_f] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is adorable and sweet.
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f] - more like a middle name, it’s interesting.
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]; we love this nickname!) - beautiful and flowing, traditional but sweet. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]'s adorable.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] - how lovely and pretty!
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] - again too simple, and ends the same way as [name_f]Primrose[/name_f].
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] - seems more like a middle name, feels too traditional and serious.
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] - I like it but it’s a bit strong compared to the more delicate [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], I much prefer [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f] - it’s really lovely and less matchy with [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] than [name_f]Polly[/name_f], plus it has a more unique feel.
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] - shares too many of the same sounds as [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], not as exciting as it either.

[name_u]LOVE[/name_u]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] nn [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t recommend:
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]

I’m obviously partial to [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]/[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and I think [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is adorable, so I think you can’t go wrong there!

[name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] are a nicely flowing twin pair.

With [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], I think [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] is a wonderful fit, and [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] also have a good flow.

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - I adore it as long as it’s pronounced CLAH-ra (not [name_f]Claire[/name_f]-uh)
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] - I like it though am getting a little tired of it for some reason. [name_f]Edit[/name_f]: I agree with another poster… too matchy (theme-wise) with [name_f]Primrose[/name_f].
[name_f]Polly[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Molly[/name_f]. Not really my taste
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f] - sounds a bit dated to me but phonetically pleasant
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]; we love this nickname!) - stunning
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] - not my taste
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] - stunning
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] - elegant, love it
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] - nice
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f] - I totally get the appeal, not really my taste though. my hubby loves it
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] - Elegant

So excited you are having twins! Are you going to find out if it’s two boys/girls or one of each?

[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is super cute but I don’t think it flows as well with [name_u]August[/name_u].

I think [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] are super cute together. That would be my pick.

I really love [name_u]August[/name_u] with [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] and in particular [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] with [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f].
Out of the previous options I like

[name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_u]August[/name_u] & [name_f]Polly[/name_f]
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_u]August[/name_u] & [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_u]August[/name_u] & [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]

With combos:

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]

[name_f]Polly[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Polly[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Polly[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Polly[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Polly[/name_f] [name_f]Yvette[/name_f]

[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Blue[/name_u] (I know this is a bit different compared to your other choices however I really love the sound of [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_u]Blue[/name_u])
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Luna[/name_f]

Good luck with choosing and congratulations on your twins!

[name_f]Clara[/name_f]- I love [name_f]Clara[/name_f] it’s so sweet and pretty. I also love [name_f]Claire[/name_f].
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]- I would never personally use [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] but I think it is an adorable name.
[name_f]Polly[/name_f]- I dislike [name_f]Polly[/name_f].
[name_f]Elaine[/name_f]- Classic and pretty.
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]; we love this nickname!)- Not crazy about it but [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is a really cut nickname.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]- not a fan.
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]- I have never liked this name.
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]- I know wayyyyy too many Carolines
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]- I think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is lovely with [name_f]Primrose[/name_f].
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]- I really like [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] I personally prefer it as a middle name though.
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]- Very sweet.

Overall, I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] go best with your other daughter’s name.

Oh sorry I totally missed the part where you said one boy and one girl! [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is a handsome combo from above and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is cute!

My faves are [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f].

Thank you all for thid wonderful response! We’ve broken it down to [name_f]Polly[/name_f], [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], and our front runner for our boy is now [name_u]August[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]! We are now considering what options we have for a name that could support [name_f]Polly[/name_f] as a nickname.
