What do you think of the name [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]?
[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! [name_m]Classic[/name_m], simple yet elegant, and fits any age and personality. I love that everyone will recognize the name but any little [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] will probably be the only one in her classes. And the meaning ‘princess’ is super sweet.
It is a classic, yet still very refined and elegant. Very familiar, yet still somewhat unique today.
It’s my 8 year old nieces’ name and while it’s simple and classic (ancient, really) I find it to be refreshing and unpretentious, definitely a name everyone knows but the only young Sarah I know is my niece. It has a pleasant sound and meaning, too. I think the “h” on the end makes it look pretty written down, like it’s airy or something if that even makes sense!
A little dated/overused IMO
I feel like it would be fresh on a little girl today. [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is very classic, it was much more common about 30 years ago (it was a top ten name) but it pretty much hasnt been out of the top 100 sinxe they started leeping records. (There was a few years from 1954-1961 where it dropped sown to 119 but thats the lowest it ever got!)
I like it very much. The kind of name that can never go out of style. Not really popular now the way it used to be, but still not out of style because it’s a classic. I feel it would be refreshing to meet a little [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] today.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! I really like [name_f]Sara[/name_f] too. I honestly don’t see it as a dated name - I feel like it could suit a girl/woman of any age.
I love it!! (I prefer [name_f]Sara[/name_f] though, but [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is also lovely.) She’s classic, elegant, dreamy, and bright. Reminds me of the book The [name_m]Little[/name_m] [name_f]Princess[/name_f], and the song [name_f]Sara[/name_f] by [name_u]Fleetwood[/name_u] [name_m]Mac[/name_m], so she has a very poetic, loving feel. It would be so sweet to meet a little [name_f]Sara[/name_f]!
a solid, simple choice, sort of timeless but not heavily used today (where I am at least). [name_f]Do[/name_f] I prefer some of its variants? Sure, but [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is a good choice
If [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is read “SAH-rah” like in the [name_u]French[/name_u] and [name_m]German[/name_m] way, I a fan of it.
If it is read “SAY-rah” then I am not a fan of it, but it is nice for others.
SAH-rah feels classic for every age and also gives me tones of dark brown and feels dark academia-ish and reminds me of violins and novels.
SAY-rah reminds me of red and green and Chirstmas and [name_u]Charles[/name_u] Dickens and feels more Victorian vintage, especially with the nickname [name_f]Sally[/name_f].
Great meaning too.
I love it! Slightly prefer the [name_f]Sara[/name_f] spelling, but [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is also beautiful. It’s the kind of name that fits anyone, regardless of age of personality. [name_m]Classic[/name_m] and familiar, but would be fresh on a little girl today. [name_u]Super[/name_u] sweet . I love the nicknames [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Sally[/name_f] too, but I don’t think those are well-known Sarah-nicknames outside of Nameberry (?)
it’s a little overused and better as a middle name,
Sarah is gorgeous!
She’s just such a strong, enduring classic with a lovely meaning and tons of biblical history. Sarah feels so refreshing and unpretentious just simple with a cosy nostalgic feel. I have only come across a young Sarah once in A&E many years ago before I even met my partner so she must be at least 8 years old. She’s definitely not overused in the UK she ranks outside the top 100 within the popularity charts.
I think [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is pretty and classic, and it would work well on any age. I’ve met multiple girls around my age and a little older and younger named [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], but because it’s so timeless and traditional, it doesn’t seem overused
I think it’s a nice name but I agree with posters who say it’s overused. I’m in my 30s and have lived in both the US and UK; growing up there were countless Sarahs in my class, and school in general, and now I’m constantly meeting coworkers, nurses, neighbors, etc. named [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]. Best place is probably in the middle where she’s less expected!
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is wonderful! [name_f]Beautiful[/name_f] sound, great meaning, a Biblical heroine, and timeless usage. People tend to overlook this name because it did get pretty popular a generation or two ago, but it’s ALWAYS been around and SHOULD be.
[name_f]My[/name_f] name lol
I like it
