We are having such a hard time deciding on a name or finding many that we remotely like. [name]One[/name] that we both do like is, [name]Smith[/name]. What are your thoughts??
It’s not bad. I either picture it as a very [name]Ivy[/name] League type name, or I picture [name]Samantha[/name]'s boyfriend of Sex & the City.
I think [name]Smith[/name] works. If [name]Mason[/name] goes, why not [name]Smith[/name]?
I kind of like it, esp if you have a connection to the name.
I love it, actually! My grandfather’s name was L. B. [name]Smith[/name], just two initials and a last name, no FN or MN, and my grandma called him [name]Smitty[/name] all the time.
So it has a lot of great memories for me, and it’s unexpected but cool… I really love it. I thought it was going to it it big because I heard of several famous [name]Christian[/name] musicians used it for their sons (one of the members of [name]Leeland[/name], and Bebo [name]Norman[/name], if it really matters, haha.), so I thought it might catch on. I don’t love it enough to use it, but I’d love to see it used–I would especially love to see it used by one of my cousins, to honor our grandfather! I couldn’t go through with it, but I just think it’s a great name. Besides, [name]Smitty[/name] is so cute.
[name]Love[/name] it! I feel like it is taking [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Marie[/name] out of the mn spot and showing it off in the front. So taking the ordinary ln of [name]Smith[/name] and making it fresh for a fn is perfect!
I always feel like the [name]Debby[/name] Downer lately, but sorry - I don’t like [name]Smith[/name] at all. I don’t think it has a strong, distinctive, masculine sound, and I don’t really get the point of turning the English-speaking world’s most common surname into a first name.
I agree with jeska. i can’t see [name]Smith[/name] working as a fn. It’s just too common a ln. sorry.
I never considered it until I was watching the bachelorette. On [name]Sean[/name]'s hometown date his sister had a little boy named smith. I kind of loved it. [name]Just[/name] wasn’t sure if I could get away with it since its not a family name for me
