Opinions on the names Montague and Valentina (British family)

I really like them but i feel they have a slight Italian feel to them,no Italian links
Opinions please
I have thought about the nickname [name_m]Monty[/name_m] for [name_m]Montague[/name_m].

Weirdly, I think as a British family, you could get away with this. The Brits are known for having more flowery, formal, and somewhat old-fashioned (but quirky) names, particularly in the upper-middle classes. The Telegraph birth announcement examples are a bit extreme, but you get the gist.

I know a couple of Valentinas (it’s a common name in Catholic schools, it seems) and think the name is beautiful. [name_m]Montague[/name_m] nn [name_m]Monty[/name_m] is also pretty cute!

I like [name_f]Valentina[/name_f], but [name_m]Montague[/name_m] is a bit to posh and stiff for me.

They sound wonderful together and I don’t think it’d be odd to have Italian names in a British family as they aren’t names that are totally unheard of outside of [name_f]Italy[/name_f]. [name_m]Monty[/name_m] is a sweet nickname!

They definitely work over here, especially if your [name_m]Montague[/name_m] goes by [name_m]Monty[/name_m]. I actually know three (!) Montagues of various ages.

[name_f]Valentina[/name_f] is totally gorgeous and would definitely go down well over here. Unusual but familiar — the sweet spot!
