Opinions on these Girl Names?

Hello everyone,

If you wouldn’t mind please give me your opinions on girl names that I am liking with at the moment. Why do you or why do you not like them?

What kind of girl do you see wearing this name?

[name_f]Kimora[/name_f]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f]
[name_f]Honor[/name_f]
[name_f]Solange[/name_f]
[name_u]Cairo[/name_u]
[name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f]
[name_f]Nola[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u]
[name_u]Monroe[/name_u]
[name_u]Mercer[/name_u]

Any suggestions?
Please let me know! Really need help forming my list.

I love [name_u]Sterling[/name_u] and [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t Like:
[name_f]Kimora[/name_f] - Sounds made up to me, and I don’t like the sound of it.
[name_f]Honor[/name_f] - Personal thing but I don’t like a lot of word names or virtue names.
[name_f]Solange[/name_f] - I’ve never liked how it sounded and it is very tied to [name_f]Solange[/name_f] Knowles to me.
[name_u]Cairo[/name_u] - I want to like it because it definitely has a cool and unique sound, but for some reason I can’t (though I really like [name_u]Kai[/name_u] and [name_f]Kaia[/name_f])
[name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f] - I hate the way this is spelled, with two A’s in the front and an H at the end. [name_f]Aliya[/name_f] or [name_f]Alia[/name_f] seems so much nicer to me. I really like the way Bollywood actress [name_f]Alia[/name_f] Bhatt pronounces her name (AA-li-ah).
[name_f]Nola[/name_f] - [name_m]Just[/name_m] sounds weird to me. I like [name_f]Nora[/name_f] better.

Neutral:
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u] - Reminds me of sterling silver, it’s a nice name that is truly unisex to me.
[name_u]Monroe[/name_u] - I love the sound of it but can’t help feeling like it’s a bit too surname-y.

[name_u]Love[/name_u]:
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] - Streamlined, simple, gorgeous, and chic. I love it!
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f] - Same as [name_f]Elle[/name_f], just more festive and Christmasy
[name_u]Mercer[/name_u] - Chic and unisex, I really like it!

[name_f]Kimora[/name_f] - This is unusual, almost sci-fi to me, so I’d expect the girl to be a bit quirky.
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name. It’s simple but classic sounding, so I’d think of subtle sophistication.
[name_f]Honor[/name_f] - This is a strong name, and unusual virtue name, but I actually really like it.
[name_f]Solange[/name_f] - Too tied to [name_f]Solange[/name_f] Knowles for me to envision it on anyone else.
[name_u]Cairo[/name_u] - I have trouble seeing this as a name, tbh.
[name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f] - I like the sound of this, but not this spelling. If I heard it first (without seeing it written), it sounds playful, feminine, and strong. But I’d prefer any other spelling variant without the extra letters.
[name_f]Nola[/name_f] - It’s alright.
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f] - A pretty name. It has a classic, storybook vibe to me.
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u] - Can’t picture this on a little girl, tbh. I’ve known two male Sterlings and my life and they were both hyper-masculine.
[name_u]Monroe[/name_u] - [name_m]Just[/name_m] not a fan of last names as first names in most cases.
[name_u]Mercer[/name_u] - Same.

My favorites are [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], [name_f]Honor[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], and [name_f]Kimora[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Honor[/name_f] and really like [name_f]Elle[/name_f] and [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]. [name_f]Honor[/name_f] is such a strong, sophisticated name, [name_f]Elle[/name_f] is simple, cute and chic, and [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] is modern and cool.

It’s a challenge to give suggestions because you have such a varied style (which is great!), but how about…

[name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
[name_f]Amara[/name_f]
[name_u]Vesper[/name_u]
[name_f]Harlow[/name_f]
[name_f]Ariane[/name_f]
[name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Tula[/name_f]
[name_f]Zosia[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoya[/name_f]
[name_f]Galilee[/name_f]
[name_u]Arliss[/name_u]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]
[name_f]Sakura[/name_f]
[name_f]Indira[/name_f]
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u]
[name_f]Solene[/name_f]
[name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]
[name_f]Leila[/name_f]
[name_f]Tove[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Tupelo[/name_f]
[name_f]Nieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Aster[/name_f]
[name_f]Merrily[/name_f]
[name_u]Simone[/name_u]
[name_f]Maxine[/name_f]

[name_f]Kimora[/name_f] - Not really my style, sounds a little made up.
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] - I like it, but I’d most likely use it as a nickname for something longer, or maybe a middle. It sounds very sleek and modern.
[name_f]Honor[/name_f] - Not really my style as a first name, maybe as a middle. I prefer [name_f]Honora[/name_f].
[name_f]Solange[/name_f] - Not my style.
[name_u]Cairo[/name_u] - Kind of a guilty pleasure for me! I don’t think it’s usable as a first name by itself, but I could see someone using it as a middle or maybe as a nickname for [name_f]Caroline[/name_f].
[name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f] - I like the sound, but not my favorite spelling.
[name_f]Nola[/name_f] - I like it!
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f] - It’s okay, not really my style.
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u] - It’s okay but seems very formal in my opinion. I actually used to know a girl named [name_u]Sterling[/name_u]; she went by her middle name when we were younger but now I think she does go by [name_u]Sterling[/name_u]. I think it’s the kind of name where you really have to have the personality to fit it.
[name_u]Monroe[/name_u] - It’s okay, but not really my style.
[name_u]Mercer[/name_u] - Same as [name_u]Monroe[/name_u]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] reminds me of [name_u]Mercer[/name_u] Island.

Some suggestions for you (sorry for repeats):

[name_f]Leora[/name_f]/[name_f]Leona[/name_f]
[name_f]Verity[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]
[name_u]Bliss[/name_u]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_u]Amari[/name_u]/[name_m]Imari[/name_m]
[name_f]Amara[/name_f]
[name_f]Elora[/name_f]

[name_f]Kimora[/name_f]–Hmm, reminds me of a kimono. And (forgive me) I think it would elicit dirty jokes from teenagers.
[name_f]Elle[/name_f]–Sleeker and more refined that [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I like its simplicity and symmetry.
[name_f]Honor[/name_f]–A noble word name. I think it looks slightly prettier than it sounds. But I could see myself warming up to it enough to love it.
[name_f]Solange[/name_f]–[name_f]Solange[/name_f] is not as popular or trendy, but I think it is gorgeous. I love [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] and any of the names with the “sun” meaning.
[name_u]Cairo[/name_u]–Not a favorite. I don’t like many place names, and I’m afraid this isn’t one of them.
[name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f]–This one seems overly complicated, especially in comparison to your other names. I much prefer [name_f]Alina[/name_f].
[name_f]Nola[/name_f]–On my own shortlist. I see it as a diminuitive as [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], which is also beautiful, but a little to frilly for my taste. I love [name_f]Nola[/name_f], and generally ignore detractors–people comment that it reminds them of granola, or [name_m]New[/name_m] Orleans.
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]–I feel ambivalent about [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. Maybe because I love [name_u]Noel[/name_u] (“knoll”) for a boy. Also, [name_f]Elle[/name_f] is a bit more timeless and would age better I think.
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u]–No for me. It brings to mind cowboys, small towns, and a distinctly male image. Funnily enough, I could warm up to [name_m]Austin[/name_m] on a girl, but not [name_u]Sterling[/name_u].
[name_u]Monroe[/name_u]–Too tied to [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] [name_u]Monroe[/name_u], which I wouldn’t consider a positive association.
[name_u]Mercer[/name_u]–Too masculine, and reminds me of the word mercenary

Overall, my favorites are:
[name_f]Elle[/name_f]
[name_f]Honor[/name_f]
[name_f]Solange[/name_f]
[name_f]Nola[/name_f]

You may also like:

[name_u]Simone[/name_u]
[name_f]Petra[/name_f]
[name_u]Justice[/name_u]
[name_u]Reese[/name_u]

[name_f]Kimora[/name_f] - reminds me a bit of a villain in a danish children’s book, so I don’t like it
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] - Not my style, I would prefer something like [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], but it’s still a pretty name
[name_f]Honor[/name_f] - I guess because english isn’t my first language, then all I see is a word, not a name, so not a fan
I don’t have an opinion on [name_f]Solange[/name_f], [name_u]Cairo[/name_u] and [name_u]Mercer[/name_u]
[name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f] - such a pretty name, I think! especially as a middle name
[name_f]Nola[/name_f] - cute, would never use it as a first name though
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f] - so pretty!!
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u] - Really cool name! but both [name_u]Sterling[/name_u] and [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] reminds me a bit too much of dogs

[name_f]Lovely[/name_f]:
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f] (love!)
[name_f]Elle[/name_f]

Surnames… don’t strike me as feminine:
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u]
[name_u]Monroe[/name_u]
[name_u]Mercer[/name_u]

[name_f]Kimora[/name_f] - it’s becoming popular, but I don’t like the sound

[name_f]Honor[/name_f] - I don’t like word names, especially virtue names

[name_f]Solange[/name_f] - copycat name for [name_f]Beyonce[/name_f]'s sister.
[name_u]Cairo[/name_u] - it’s a city in [name_u]Egypt[/name_u], if that’s what you’re gong for
[name_f]Aaliyah[/name_f] - the spelling is a hot mess
[name_f]Nola[/name_f] - I just see the common abbr for [name_m]New[/name_m] Orleans, LA
