Opinions on these girls' names?

I posted another thread in the boys’ forums for new boys’ names I’m loving right now and thought I’d do the same for my girls’ list. I’d love your opinions. Anything with an * is a family name.

[name]Amalia[/name]
[name]Augusta[/name] - [name]Love[/name], but my stepbrother has the middle name [name]August[/name] which he sometimes goes by. He lives in [name]CA[/name] so we rarely see each other.
[name]Avis[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name] “[name]Delia[/name]”
[name]Eugenia[/name]/[name]Eugenie[/name] - Can’t decide which I like better! I pron. [name]Eugenie[/name] as “You-[name]GEE[/name]-nee”, fwiw.
[name]Florence[/name]* - NN [name]Flora[/name] or [name]Wren[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name] - Is this going to get trendy?
[name]June[/name]* - honors my grandmother, [name]Judith[/name]
[name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Leona[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name]
[name]Nola[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] - I love every possible NN for this, but my favorite is probably [name]Polly[/name].
[name]Rose[/name]*
[name]Stella[/name] - I worry about the popularity, though.
[name]Vera[/name] - Pronounced [name]VEER[/name]-uh
[name]Virginia[/name] - NN [name]Vira[/name], pronounced same as above.
[name]Winifred[/name] “[name]Winnie[/name]”

[name]TIA[/name]

My favorite is [name]Cordelia[/name]. I like the nn [name]Delia[/name], or maybe [name]Dee[/name] [name]Dee[/name].

I like them all except for [name]Avis[/name] and [name]Nola[/name], which both seem musty to me, but they fit with current trends so I can see their appeal. Highlights of your list for me:
[name]Augusta[/name] (which is a sort of family name. [name]Do[/name] you get along with your stepbrother? If so, he might think it’s pretty cool that you are considering this name)
[name]Florence[/name]
[name]June[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] (please consider using it up front, it’s so pretty and often gets delegated to the middle spot - which is ok. I just think it really shines up front. Something like [name]Rose[/name] [name]Florence[/name] or [name]Rose[/name] [name]Penelope[/name] would be so unexpected and beautiful).
[name]Winifred[/name]/"[name]Winnie[/name]" - I got to reread [name]Tuck[/name] Everlasting with some middle school classes so I’m on a high with this name. (Also, would be a great book to read her).

I love: [name]Delia[/name] (but not [name]Cordelia[/name]), [name]Eugenia[/name]/[name]Eugenie[/name] (love both, like the “a” ending best), [name]June[/name], [name]Vera[/name]

I like: [name]Amalia[/name], [name]Augusta[/name] ([name]Aggie[/name] and [name]Gussie[/name] are adorable vintage nicknames), [name]Laurel[/name], [name]Leona[/name], [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Stella[/name]

Eh: [name]Avis[/name] (prefer [name]Mavis[/name]), [name]Mabel[/name], [name]Nola[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Virginia[/name], [name]Winifred[/name]

I dislike: [name]Clementine[/name], [name]Florence[/name] (but love [name]Flora[/name])

What an inspiring list! I love some of the old fashioned gems you are into. I hope you don’t mind some name combos…

I think you have a very strong intelligent feminine style & I think the nicknames you are into are different but spunky, the perfect match to a serious name.

[name]Florence[/name]* - All I can think of is Aunt [name]Flo[/name] jokes :frowning:
[name]Harriet[/name] - I really don’t like it I prefer just [name]Hattie[/name]
[name]June[/name]* - short and sweet
[name]Laurel[/name] - cute and sweet
[name]Leona[/name] - [name]Love[/name] [name]Leona[/name]!

[name]Mabel[/name] - NMS
[name]Nola[/name] - I like [name]Nora[/name] a lot better
[name]Penelope[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it!
[name]Rose[/name]- I prefer a more substantial variation [name]Rosa[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Rosanna[/name] etc but still nice

[name]Augusta[/name] - it’s okay. I don’t really like any nicknames for it, like [name]Gussie[/name] or [name]Gus[/name].

[name]Avis[/name] - don’t like much. Reminds me of rental car company also.

[name]Clementine[/name] - I like it if pronounced clemen-teen, not tyne as in the song.

[name]Harriet[/name] - it doesn’t sound like a name that will be trendy but who knows.

[name]June[/name]* - I only like as a middle name.

[name]Penelope[/name] - this is nice, and I agree, it does have a lot of cute nickname possibilities.

[name]Vera[/name] - I like this these days. Reminds me of the 20s.

[name]Virginia[/name] - I like [name]Virginia[/name], but I don[t like the spelling [name]Vira[/name].

[name]Winifred[/name] “[name]Winnie[/name]” not a fan of [name]Winifred[/name] or [name]Winnie[/name].
