I posted another thread in the boys’ forums for new boys’ names I’m loving right now and thought I’d do the same for my girls’ list. I’d love your opinions. :slight_smile: Anything with an * is a family name.

My favorite is [name]Cordelia[/name]. I like the nn [name]Delia[/name], or maybe [name]Dee[/name] [name]Dee[/name].

I like them all except for [name]Avis[/name] and [name]Nola[/name], which both seem musty to me, but they fit with current trends so I can see their appeal. Highlights of your list for me:
[name]Augusta[/name] (which is a sort of family name. [name]Do[/name] you get along with your stepbrother? If so, he might think it’s pretty cool that you are considering this name)

[name]Rose[/name] (please consider using it up front, it’s so pretty and often gets delegated to the middle spot - which is ok. I just think it really shines up front. Something like [name]Rose[/name] [name]Florence[/name] or [name]Rose[/name] [name]Penelope[/name] would be so unexpected and beautiful).
[name]Winifred[/name]/"[name]Winnie[/name]" - I got to reread [name]Tuck[/name] Everlasting with some middle school classes so I’m on a high with this name. (Also, would be a great book to read her).

I think you have a very strong intelligent feminine style & I think the nicknames you are into are different but spunky, the perfect match to a serious name.

[name]Augusta[/name] - it’s okay. I don’t really like any nicknames for it, like [name]Gussie[/name] or [name]Gus[/name].

[name]Avis[/name] - don’t like much. Reminds me of rental car company also.

[name]Clementine[/name] - I like it if pronounced clemen-teen, not tyne as in the song.

[name]Cordelia[/name] “[name]Delia[/name]” - I don’t like [name]Cordelia[/name] that much but I do like [name]Delia[/name].

[name]Eugenia[/name]/[name]Eugenie[/name] - don’t like too much. Prefer [name]Eugenie[/name] though.

[name]Stella[/name] -I like it too. Yes, it is popular and may get more so. But I don’t worry a great deal about popularity.
