[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] (yes, I know it’s only a boy’s name in the UK)
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] (thanks for those who helped me with my [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]/[name_f]Hadlee[/name_f] debate)
I also love [name_f]Olive[/name_f] (hubby vetoed it) and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] (family DETESTS).
Opinions and preferences would be so much appreciated!
Brother is [name_m]Weston[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. [name_u]Baby[/name_u]'s girls middle name is undecided atm.
I love [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. But I’m really not a fan of the others. When I hear the name [name_u]Finley[/name_u], I picture a boy. “Hey do you want to go to the movies with [name_u]Finley[/name_u] and me?” “[name_f]My[/name_f] friend, [name_u]Finley[/name_u],” I automatically picture a dude, not a girl. …There’s just a reason I’m not personally a fan of boy names on girls. I don’t like [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] at all, although may I suggest [name_f]Hailey[/name_f], [name_f]Helene[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f] or [name_f]Heloise[/name_f]? Due to seeing that you like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], and [name_f]Olive[/name_f], all in one post, may I suggest these color names as well?: [name_f]Azure[/name_f], [name_f]Coco[/name_f], [name_f]Cerise[/name_f], [name_f]Indigo[/name_f], [name_f]Jade[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_f]Amber[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Emerald[/name_f], [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f], [name_f]Blanca[/name_f]?
It may just be me, however, I’m really picky with names.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] seems the closest to [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], so it would be my choice. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is nice too, though feels extra girly to me. Not necessarily a bad thing. I am not a fan of [name_u]Finley[/name_u] or [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]…the ley ending is just too trendy.
[name_f]My[/name_f] votes are:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] & [name_m]Weston[/name_m] ([name_f]Violet[/name_f] is such a lovely evocative name and I love the nns [name_f]Vi[/name_f] and [name_u]West[/name_u])
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] & [name_m]Weston[/name_m] (Least common of your choices, I love the nn Haddie)
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is also pretty, just not my fave. [name_u]Finley[/name_u] is one of my favourite names, but I’m not a fan of super-popular boy names on girls. Less-used boys/unisex names on girls is fine.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. [name_m]Weston[/name_m] & [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] are fantastic names for a brother and sister.
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] & [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is lovely as well. [name_m]Weston[/name_m] & [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] works too. [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is fantastic, too bad it’s been vetoed.
I find [name_u]Finley[/name_u] and [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] too masculine, and without substance.
I think [name_f]Violet[/name_f] & [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] are the best choices to go with your son’s name. Whatever you choose, [name_f]DO[/name_f] NOT tell your family! It is your baby!! If you love it, then go for it.
1 [name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] - a pretty but sassy choice
2 [name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] - two surnames so they are well-matched
3 [name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] - I’m really not a fan of [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] but it’s preferable to [name_u]Finley[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] are sweet. [name_u]Finley[/name_u] sounds odd and kind of creepy to me…like an Addams Family character (Pugsley, [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f], Uncle Fester, [name_u]Finley[/name_u]–it just fits right in!). [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is a surname of a friend…not sure why people are using it as a first name, but it feels like a theft.
