[name_f]Iris[/name_f] - I think it’s lovely. Though I’m unlikely to use it myself, I prefer [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. It has a nice meaning as well as a popular sound (I/eye) but still off the beaten track.
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name, a classic for a reason. I’m not a huge fan of the nicknames [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Nora[/name_f] (not sure if you’d use one), but I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is gorgeous.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] - I just always want to say [name_f]Mar[/name_f]-got. I think because I knew a lovely lady who was [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and the T was said. I prefer [name_f]Margo[/name_f] as a spelling just because it’s far less confusing for me!
[name_f]Fleur[/name_f] - Nice, I prefer [name_f]Flora[/name_f].
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] - It’s ok, I’m not sure what about it makes me hold back, but there’s something.
[name_f]Esme[/name_f] - I say it Ez-me, I know lots of people say it Ez-may. It’s my aunts name, who currently is not in the family good books, so that sort of puts me off - sorry I can’t be more objective with it!
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - It’s just too popular for me, also I like names with nickname options. It’s pretty, just not stunning.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - Darling. I hate the nn [name_u]Allie[/name_u], but I don’t think [name_f]Alice[/name_f] really needs a nickname. (I happen to love nicknames, if/when I have a little girl named [name_f]Alice[/name_f] I’m going to use [name_f]Alsie[/name_f])
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] - It’s ok, I like [name_f]May[/name_f] and [name_f]Belle[/name_f], so I should love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]. I’m not sure I do love it, but I do think it’s nice.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - I recently discovered that some people pronounce this name as [name_f]Claire[/name_f]-ah, I don’t like [name_f]Claire[/name_f]-ah. I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is nice, though it relates too much to [name_m]Doctor[/name_m] Who for me.
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] - I just don’t like it, sorry.
I like [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Esme[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] the most I go back and forth on whether or not I like [name_f]Olive[/name_f], haha, but other than [name_f]Olive[/name_f] (which isn’t by any means a bad choice), I think all of your options are nice.
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] as well as [name_f]Alice[/name_f] but only when pronounced with the Italian pronunciation. I like [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] and am indifferent about [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Stella[/name_f]. I don’t like any of the others at all, particularly [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (and also [name_f]Fleur[/name_f], but that’s only because [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] was the name of a pretty important road where I lived as a kid so it just feels weird as a name.)
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] - like
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] - love
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] - like
[name_f]Fleur[/name_f] - dislike, always thought it sounded weird
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] - love
[name_f]Esme[/name_f] - okay
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - like
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - like
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] - dislike
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - love
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] - dislike, much prefer [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]- it’s ok, but imo there are nicer ‘el’ names
[name_f]Fleur[/name_f]- I always want to like but in my accent is sounds horrible.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]- Still on the ‘old’ side of vintage for me but I do understand the appeal
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]- prefer [name_f]Olivia[/name_f],
Not really a fan:
[name_f]Fleur[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] – when I say this name out loud I always want to finish with -leen as in Maybelline
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
Top choices
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Fleur[/name_f]
then
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
The only one I am not a fan of is [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]. I also would never use [name_f]Stella[/name_f], because I know way too many dogs named [name_f]Stella[/name_f]. My favorites are [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. I also really like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] lately, thought I don’t think I would ever actually use it personally.
All are dolls but i cant get into [name_f]Fleur[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] is too close to flour, and [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] i just dont know somethings blocking me from liking those
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]: Irises are my favorite flower, so I love this name. It sounds elegant & sophisticated to me.
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]: Another sophisticated name & a reminder of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] of [name_f]Aquitaine[/name_f]. Being the [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings geek that I am, if I were to use the name I’d go w/the spelling of [name_f]Elanor[/name_f].
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]: I know lots of people who love it, but none of the [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]-related names are my style. I think it’s the hard -g- sound that doesn’t appeal to me.
[name_f]Fleur[/name_f]: I really like this name but am not sure I’d use it in the U.S…it seems more doable in the U.K.
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]: It’s not my style…plus I’m old enough to remember [name_m]Marlon[/name_m] [name_m]Brando[/name_m] bellowing “[name_f]STELLA[/name_f]!” at the top of his lungs in A Streetcar Named Desire.
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]: This one is also not my style.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]: I think it’s a very sweet name & reminds me of the younger girl in the Boxcar Children series of books, but I like other names from your list better.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]: [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is a great classic name; my preference is to use another form of the name though (although not [name_f]Alicia[/name_f]…[name_f]Ailis[/name_f], [name_f]Alys[/name_f]/[name_f]Alis[/name_f], [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f]/[name_f]Alyssia[/name_f], Alais).
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]: I’m sufficiently old that [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] will never be anything but old-fashioned & clunky to my ears.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]: I love [name_f]Clara[/name_f]!
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]: This is just not my style; I like [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] better, but if I were to use any variant of the name I’d go w/[name_f]Livia[/name_f].
All of these names [name_f]IMO[/name_f] are solid choices…they’re all easy to spell & pronounce. Good luck!
